Dollar Value made all to win this race by 14 lengths last year and went on to win another claiming hurdle at Sligo in August. Came back from a 225-day break with a respectable 4th in a hurdle race at Downpatrick in June and should repeat last year's win.

War Correspondent is a 6-year-old gelding trained by R P Cody and ridden by Paddy Cody. He is 1/13 over winning on hurdles debut at Punchestown, then finished 3/8 in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham on his next start, beaten just 4.5 lengths and opened on a mark of 118. He was placed in two handicap hurdles last year. He hasn't been sent off bigger than 6-1 in each of his last four hurdle starts, so is clearly thought capable of adding to his tally. Paddy Cody takes off a valuable 7 lb in this claiming hurdle, and he's a jockey who went 2/27 wins in the 2024-25 season, winning a maiden hurdle on Mountain Port (Kieran Purcell) on hurdles debut at Tramore at 150-1 and a bumper at 5-1 for J P O'Brien. His other win came in 2022-23 on Quaresome in a Roscommon bumper at 28-1 (his only ever ride at Roscommon).
