The 119-rated THUNDERING ON is a standout on official ratings and is rated 9 lbs better than her nearest rival in this race. This daughter of Frankel has progressed significantly as a three-year-old, recording her maiden win second time out this season before winning the Oaks next time out. She was unable to back that up when fourth over 1m2f (Good to Firm) here last time. She was sent off the 11/10f that day and traveled into the race well but weakened late on and was eventually beaten by 2½ lengths. Considering that she was reported to be coughing after the race and the second and third in that race were rated 109 and 108 respectively, it's unlikely that she gave her true running. She steps back up to 1m4f, having recorded her maiden win on her only other start over this trip. Provided there are no lingering issues from her effort 21 days ago, she can be expected to run a much better race today and will set a clear standard if doing so.

She ran great race last time out, staying on doggedly to take a group 2 event and can again improve and take this step up in class. The stable have a decent record when travelling over top the Curragh with 55 runners yielding 10 winners and 9 placed efforts in that time, winning it in 2017 with Sea Of Class, (5 of the last 11 running's have gone to British trainer) and are in decent form. Stat wise, she ticks a lot of the trends here with the top trends being 21/23 - Raced within the last 6 weeks (4 weeks) 20/23 - Finished 1st or 2nd last time out (1st) 19/23 - Came from the top 3 in the betting (2nd fav) 17/23 - Returned 9/2 or shorter in the betting (4/1 at time of posting) 16/23 - Had won between 1-2 times before (2 wins) 16/23 - Won last time out (won) 16/23 - Won over 1m4f before (Last win)

Amelia Earhart flopped at Epsom in the Oaks but she ran too freely in the early stages making up ground she lost leaving the stalls and had nothing left in the home straight. She should find the Curragh more to her liking and could bounce back.

Ran a brilliant second last time out at Ascot in a Group 2, finishing a head behind Earthshot, so I can't justify the price difference. Form suggests she prefers faster ground.
