Was third in this race two years ago from an 8 lb higher mark. He shaped well at Aintree last time out to take third behind Ryan's Rocket. Stable in good form, and he is 1 lb lower for that run. He can take this for his stable, who are in form.

Dropped 2 lb for a disappointing run from 1 lb out of the handicap at Cheltenham last time. This return to calmer waters and a step back up in trip can see him run well for a trainer who rarely sends his horses here.

A very decent handicapper. He can take this step in class in his stride. He ran a superb race at Cheltenham last time out, staying on to finish 7th in the County Hurdle, beaten only 6 lengths, and is dropped 1 lb for that run. Stable in hot form, and he looks a solid each-way bet, getting weight from the top weight.

Ran a great race last year to be third and is only 2 lb higher today. He is following a similar path to this race. An easy win last time out, in a race where he was second last year, shows he is in rude health. He can again grab at least a place in an open race.

Can run well fresh and has a win and a short-head second-placed effort here to his name. A DNF is only 1 lb higher than his last win.

On his best hurdle form, he has an excellent chance of playing a hand in this. He keeps coming down the handicap, and this sort of trip could well bring improvement out in him. A classy hurdler with a Grade 2 win over Stay Away Faye, then a runner-up spot behind Apples Away were excellent form. Although he has not pulled up any trees chasing, the fact he is up in trip, gets a decent-sized field, is down 9 lb from the start of his career, and the stable is in good form means he can outrun his odds.
