Some useful sorts line up in the Goffs Million, but none has the class of Composing. Wootton Bassett filly who was a Group 2 winner over course and distance in July. Largely maintained that form in Group 1 last time, again over course and distance, run out of it late by good sorts (some stablemates). Not greatly attractive as a bet at odds-on but strongly respected for Aidan O'Brien (SR 25%).

A group winner in fine form, this runner proved its quality when placing third, beaten by just 3.25 lengths in the Group 1 over six furlongs. This looks easy.

Anything can happen in these large fields, and I am not having Composing at that short price here. Phenomenal Filly remains with plenty of upside and rates a good each way bet.

Favourite will take some beating, but selection is 2nd best on TF ratings, so is probably overpriced here at 16s. Won well last time beating a couple of last time out winners. Will be a strong pace which will suit. EW chance.

Simon and Ed Crisford have sent Al Shaham for a chance of reaching a top ten place, with money going back to this position, which is worth 5,000 euros. Hopefully, with this high draw, this Blue Point-sired colt can give a good account by being involved, either threatening to win or be placed. Andrew Slattery has been booked to ride, who can have his mount settled into a good stride for a positive play at the business end. Such a big field and only four places up for grabs. Poor show from Corals.

She ran a solid 4th/11 over track & trip on her racecourse debut and improved on that run to finish runner-up at Gowran Park (7f) last month. This is no doubt a tougher race, but open to further improvement and running from a decent draw today, she could go close with Shane Foley keeping the partnership intact.

Looked in need of the experience when coming from off the pace to finish a close up 4th of 13 on her racecourse debut at the Curragh at the end of June. That was over this 7f trip and looks sure to improve. One to seriously consider.

Maximum Scepticism went in to my notes three runs ago when fifth behind two of Aiden O'Brien runners here in June. He led the separate group and wasn't too far away at the finish. Duly won next time out and ran creditably when last seen.

Paddy Twomey (SR 40%) trained My Corbett Court improved when, although running green, winning a maiden claimer at Navan over 1 mile by over three lengths late in August. Going the right way and could feasibly run into a place late on.
