Charles Schwab Challenge Tips

The Texas resident, Scottie Scheffler looks unstopable at the moment, mainly this month, after winning 2 titles (The CJ Cup Byron Nelson and The PGA Championship), and now on home soil he should be extra motivated to win. He won the CJ Cup by eight, that tournament also took place in Texas (Dallas), so he should be very familiar with the weather conditions and could win his 3rd consecutive tourney over this month.

Daniel Berger can go well this week. Daniel Berger won this competition in 2020 and has performed well in this competition. He has been in good form this season and can go well this week.

Scheffler is a very short price here in what looks quite an open Charles Schwab Challenge. Tommy Fleetwood goes into this in good form with 2 top tens in his last 3 tournaments.

Another player towards the top end of the market who looks to have a big chance is Aaron Rai, who has a good record here and should progress from a top 15 finish here a couple of years ago.

Towards the top end of this market, I am going to back Maverick McNealy as he has been so consistent. With a win and 5 top 10 finishes of late, he has the form to go well here too.

Harris English was runner-up at the PGA Championship, 11th at the Travelers, and 12th at the Masters from recent good finishes. If Scheffler won’t dominate for the third tournament in a row, English will be on top of my favorites list.

J T Poston can go well this week. J T Poston had a brilliant PGA Major last week and did very well in this competition last year, finishing in 12th. He can go well this week as he is in good form.

Davis Riley can go well this week. Davis Riley won in this competition last season and can do well as the defending champion. He performed very well at the PGA Major last week and can do well this week.

Two years ago, Harry Hall was third in the Charles Schwab Challenge, and I am tipping after seven straight cuts made that he will have a big week in Texas. Back-to-back Top 20 finishes the last two weeks, and my tip is Harry Hall will challenge for a first tour title.

Ryan Gerard has 2nd, T8, 9th, T12 finishes in the last 7 tournaments. T8 was at the PGA Championship last week. Good bet to make at longer odds.

21st and 29th in four appearances at the Charles Schwab Challenge, and I am tipping the American will have a very good week this time around. In his last six starts on the PGA Tour, he has three top-six finishes, and my tip is Bud Cauley is worth a bet this week at Colonial Country Club.

Eric Cole has T5 this month at THE CJ Cup Byron Nelson. Not the best season for Cole so far, but he had some good moments and definitely has the right skills for Colonial. Another top 5 is possible here,

Tom Hoge missed the cut at the PGA Championship, but other than that, he mostly did well in many tournaments last year. Top 20 finish at the Charles Schwab Challenge last season. He is a player that has the right skills to win this week.

The American golfer has made his last four cuts, and he was runner-up at the Corales Puntacana Championship before playing well to finish 33rd in the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. He was 41st in the US PGA Championship last week but finished with two rounds of 74, so he could have had a really good week at a major. He has multiple top ten finishes last year, and I do think Michael Thorbjornsen is a winner in waiting, and I think he goes very well at the Charles Schwab.

Nico Echavarria plays his best golf since October when he won the ZOZO Championship. He was the runner-up twice since and was okay at majors. The field suits his game. He can have a good week.

Ryo Hisatsune is having a good season. Since February, he has a couple of top 5 finishes and one top 10. He can place at big odds if he shows his best game.

In the last three starts on the PGA Tour, Mark Hubbard was 12th at the Corales Puntacana Championship, 5th at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, and 7th in the Myrtle Beach Classic. He has never missed the cut at the Charles Schwab Challenge, and I do think after being 9th two years ago, the American golfer can have a good week in Texas.

Andrew Putnam should enjoy the course where he had some decent finishes in the past. 15th in 2022. I feel this is a very nice price on a player with top 10 potential.

Finnish golfer Sami Välimäki has been playing well in the US, and 150-1 odds are too generous for his chances of being involved close to the top of the leaderboard.

Daniel Berger is a former winner of the Charles Schwab Challenge. He won it in 2020. He is playing his best game in 2025, so he can repeat that success.

JT Poston has two top 12 finishes at Charles Schwab Challenge in the last five seasons. He is coming off 5th place at the major and should be full of confidence for this week.

Proven winner with strong course history and a game built on accuracy and tenacity. If his putter cooperates, these odds offer significant upside on a suitable layout.
