Enhancer Cells

Like many other Nolimit City slot games including Serial and Mental, there are Enhancer Cell positions on the top and bottom of each reel.

To trigger the Enhancer Cells, you need to land 1 or 2 Bonus Scatters on any reel. Bonus Scatters transform into Sheriff Badge Wilds and open the Enhancer Cells on its reel. Enhancer Cells will then reveal 1 of the following symbols:

• Inmate: 1 of the 5 high-paying inmate symbols
• Sheriff Badge Wild: which substitutes for all paying symbols
• Razor Split: This splits all symbols on that reel to double position. Increasing the number of ways to win, a Razor Split can land on the top and bottom Enhancer Cells on the same reel to split them twice. If the Razor Split symbol splits a Bonus Scatter on its reel, the Bonus Scatter will transform into a Sheriff Badge Wild and splits its row respectively.
• xWays: They reveal the same paying symbols which are 5-high stacked. When xWays symbols appear on both Enhancer Cells on a reel, the entire reel will be filled with 10 single Sheriff Wilds.

Split Wilds

In the base game, Split Wilds can land on any of the 5 reels. Split Wilds split all regular paying symbols on the same reel creating more ways to win. They do not split themselves though.

Green Mile Spins

The Green Mile Spins feature is played by landing 3, 4 or 5 Bonus Scatter symbols with 1, 2 or 3 starting Jumping Wilds respectively. Before the feature begins, you have the option to play with the Jumping Wilds awarded or gamble to win more.

There is a chance you could lose your free spins or gain 1 extra Jumping Wild. If you manage to gamble to reach a maximum of 5 Jumping Wilds, you can risk your free spins for the chance to win the maximum win of 200,000 times your total bet. If you choose to enter the feature, the high-value inmate symbol is determined which receives a multiplier for the remainder of the feature. Furthermore, the number of Jumping Wilds will determine the number of reels with active Enhancer Cells:

• 1 Jumping Wild: 3 reels with active Enhancer Cells
• 2 Jumping Wilds: 4 reels with active Enhancer Cells
• 3 Jumping Wilds: 5 reels with active Enhancer Cells

Furthermore, the 4^th and 5^th Jumping Wilds begin with a 2x multiplier. The reels will active Enhancer Cells are randomly chosen and remain the same throughout the feature.

Landing a Bonus Scatter on the reel with closed Enhancer Cells will open them up on that reel and transform the Bonus Scatter into a Jumping Wild. Landing 2 to 5 Bonus Scatters will award 3 to 6 additional free spins respectively.

Regarding Jumping Wilds, they jump to a random position on every free spin. When it lands on a reel with the Razor Split enhancer, it doubles its multiplier which remains for the rest of the feature as well as doubling all positions on the same row.

Jumping Wilds on the rows affected by a Split Jumping Wild also double its multiplier which remains in play. Basically, Jumping Wild multipliers count as the number of wilds on that reel position.

With the original game being such an iconic release, the San Quentin 2: Death Row slot game has a lot to live up to. Graphically, the imagery is sharper and the soundtrack is more serious. It feels like a more ‘grown-up’ approach and a natural progression. I like how Nolimit City has used the same characters from the first game.

Using Enhancer Cells, they can reveal the same symbols as in the original release. I found the Razor Split and xWays symbols to be the most lucrative with the latter giving you 10 single Sheriff Wilds if an xWays symbol appears on both top and bottom Enhancer positions.

With Split Wilds, the difference in the second outing comes from the free spins. For starters, there is a gamble option where you can begin with more starting Jumping Wilds. If you have the b*lls, you could gamble for up to 5 Jumping Wilds or even for the max win of 200,000 times your total bet.

Once you’re in the feature, it’s all about the Jumping Wilds with multipliers which are doubled when combined with the Razor Split enhancer. With 200,000 times bet max wins, San Quentin 2: Death Row has bigger win potential that the original game (150,000 x bet).
