I dove into the Razor Returns slot game after perusing the best slots sites featuring this studio. In this shark-themed adventure, the combination of stunning graphics and thrilling slot games mechanics had me hooked.

With a 5x5 grid and 40 paylines, its high volatility and an RTP of 96.55% kept the action exciting. The Nudge & Reveal Feature and the Free Spins added to the underwater excitement, not to mention the nudging mystery symbols that kept me on the edge of my seat.

100 Spins Test

This 100 Spin test was updated by Steve Madgwick on 16/08/2023

100 spins is not a Real Test

We give every slot a 100 spin test to see just what it can do, or not as the case can often be - 100 spins is no reflection of the likelihood of any other 100-spin session, as RTP's are set over many millions and probably billions of spins. So this 100 spin test is just for entertainment and insight purposes

Test Comments

I eagerly anticipated the refresh of this game as it has long been a favourite of mine from Push Gaming, I was hoping for perhaps a little less frustration, but that is still apparent, although away from the test, I am super thrilled with the look and the feel of the game, this truly is an excellent refresh.

Anyway, back to the test, the 100 spins produced 32 wins which is good, although the bonus round didn't land.

The session RTP of 84.30% was very acceptable for me given the previous performance of the game, and the coins bonus appearing in the seaweed occurred on three occasions, netting 14x twice and another over 10x which helped maintain a fair level of loss for the session.

A good version of the game which I am sure will leave the previous iteration floundering

Graphics, Music, and Sound Effects

The base game takes place under the ocean’s waves where you’ll see high-quality imagery in aqua blues and greens to set the underwater scene. In the background image, there is movement in the high-res imagery with tropical fish and starfish swimming around the screen.

The reel design and colours contrast with the background and include brightly coloured sharks and shipwreck items in muted grey colours.

The dramatic music wouldn't be out of place in a Hollywood movie and complements the shark theme fantastically.

Key Features

Now that we've covered the summary, intro and graphics, the Razor Returns review continues with the key game features. This will help you decide if this is a game you want to try.

At OLBG the slot games reviews we share provide all of the info about important features such as themes, paylines, bet range, and bonuses. Now, don't go anywhere to find out about our first impressions and expert verdict.

Theme – Sharks

With the formidable-looking sharks and dramatic music, I had a certain film’s theme song in mind while I played this slot game. If you're old enough to remember Steven Speilberg's classic film Jaws you might have “do do do do do-do-do-do” in your head right now!

The star of the show is the Wild Shark, who’s the scary-looking predator who is also the highest value symbol on the reels. He’s followed by the orange, pink, green and blue sharks. Next up are images of old relics from a sunken ship and in order of value are a diving outfit, boat telescope, compass and an anchor.

There are plenty of symbols in this game which are depicted by the following imagery. Seaweed for the Mystery Symbol, monetary amounts for the Instant Prize Symbol and an ‘x’ followed by a number for the Multiplier Symbol. There is a ‘C’ surrounded by gold shark teeth for the Collector Symbol. a gold shark head for the Convertor Symbol. An image with a grey-coloured ‘+1’ for the Nudge Up Symbol and the torpedo image represents the Torpedo Symbol/Scatter Symbol. So it’s safe to say this game is swimming in special symbols.

All of the aquatic action of Razor Returns takes place on 5 reels and 5 rows.

You have 40 non-adjustable paylines available for your winning lines for Razor Returns.

Return to Player or RTP as it’s commonly known is the projected return of stakes to players.  It’s a percentage figure usually between 94% and 96%. The Razor Returns slot game RTP varies between 94.49% - 96.55% depending on where you play it so the upper range is above average.

You’ll find different RTPs at various operators. We’ve identified a few different percentages in some of the UK online casinos and added these to our table below.

Remember, there's more to think about than RTP when deciding where to play. Other factors include payment options, games, customer support and welcome bonuses and deals. Our casino reviews analyse all of this information.

Stake Range

The bet range starts at 0.10 and goes up to £100 for the Razor Returns game.

Max Win

You can win up to an enormous 100,000x of your total stake if you win the maximum amount for Razor Returns which is pretty impressive.

Wild Shape

The Wild Shape for this game is represented by the Wild Shark Symbol which substitutes for all other paying symbols apart from the Mystery, Torpedo and Instant Prize Symbols. It’s also the reel’s highest-value symbol.

Free Spins

When 3 or more Torpedo Symbols land anywhere on the grid, the Free Spins Feature will be triggered. During the Free Spins Feature, Mystery Symbols fill reels 2 and 4. For every spin, they will nudge down by 1 position increasing the Total Multiplier by 1.

Like most slot games these days there is not a jackpot feature within this game. However, the max win available is a mega 100,000x the stake which is much higher than many on the market.

If jackpots are your cup of tea check out this page with the best jackpot slot games.

Play Experience & First Impressions

The base game hooks you in straight away with the high-res imagery and the strong shark theme. Like most slot games the base game does what it says on the tin and the exciting part comes with the additional features of which are there plenty in this game.

Expert Verdict

Whether you’ve played its predecessor Razor Shark or not there’s a lot to grab your attention with this game and it’s a good follow-up if you’re a fan of the 2019 original.

There is a boatload of features to shout about in this review so let’s crack on. Firstly the 100,000x max win is a standout point as not many slot games have such a high payout. It’s a high-volatility game but it’s balanced by the fact that there are chances to win sizable amounts.

We really enjoyed the Gamble Feature where you have the option to spin the wheel which has various torpedo options up for grabs with values written on them. Wins can include no prize segments (boo!) or Free Spins prizes (woo!). The Nudge and Reveal Feature is also fun and involves the Mystery Symbol triggering paying symbols or the special shark symbols. When these symbols nudge down, the winnings are paid and the reels keep spinning until no more Mystery Symbols appear on the grid.

The Razor Reveal Feature is another highlight which is triggered when the Golden Shark Symbol appears on the reels. The Golden Shark will then spin through lots of prizes where you can win goodies such as instant prizes, multipliers, nudge-ups or free spins. Also up for grabs are collectors where all prizes are accumulated into one. Or converters where all paying symbols are converted to Gold Shark Symbols, so there’s plenty to keep you entertained.

There are a bunch of symbols for the game which can be a bit confusing but the paytable is clear so you can always refer to this throughout your game.

It's fair to say that we’re a big fan of this brand-new slot game so our advice is to dive straight in and uncover some top prizes and features.
