The Money Train 4 slot is played on a 6x6 gris with Scatter Pays. Previous games in the series have 5 reels and 40 paylines for reference. Landing matching symbols anywhere in view will reward you with a winning combination. For low-value symbols, 10 are more are required whilst it’s 8 or more for the higher-value symbols.

There are 36 positions on the grid meaning you can land wins with multiple symbols on the same spin. Finally, on the payouts front, the more matching symbols that appear, the bigger the payout naturally.

When it comes to betting options, you can play Money Train 4 from just 10p per spin. The maximum bet per spin is £6 which is low but this is a high-risk/high-reward slot game (more on this below). Set in a dystopian desert, you’ll see the infamous money train, equipped with weapons, take centre stage with canyons, planets and moons in the backdrop. Like something out of a Hollywood movie, Relax Gaming has gone to town with an immersive and cinematic feel.

The first thing I noticed was the orchestral soundtrack which has a serious undertone. It adds to the intensity and grandness in my opinion. You’ll hear mechanical clunks when you spin the reels as well as firing guns.

On the 6x6 grid, you’ll come across a variety of symbols. These include low-value diamonds, hearts, clubs and spades. Higher-value symbols include 4 bandits: the Payer, Sniper, Collector and Necromancer.

With all royal symbols and the Collector and Necromancer bandits, 8 or more are required for a Scatter Pays win. For the Payer and Sniper, 10 or more are needed. The best-paying symbol is the Necromancer which awards 1,000 times your total bet if you fill all 36 positions.

The Money Train 4 game has no traditional wild symbol. Look out for the Bonus Scatter which triggers the Money Cart Bonus feature when 3 or more land anywhere on the grid. During the feature, there are lots of special symbols which can dramatically influence your win potential (more details in the Bonus Features section below). It’s all about the Money Cart Bonus feature where a large number of special symbols land and affect other symbols and your win potential up to 150,000 times your total bet.

Respins

Randomly at the end of a base game spin, the Respin feature can be triggered. The symbol that appears most on the grid will be chosen and become sticky during the free respin. On this respin, only symbols of the same type and blanks can land with symbols awarding another respin.

To help matters, there are Multiplier symbols which don’t sticky but will ensure you earn another respin. Multiplier values are added together and applied to the final win amount. The respins continue until no new symbols land (excluded blanks).

Money Cart Bonus

Money Train 4 focuses on the Money Cart Bonus feature. You can play this iconic feature by seeing 3 or more Bonus Scatter symbols anywhere in view. Gold Persistent symbols can substitute for the Bonus Scatter which will help you trigger the feature too.

Once in, the Bonus Scatters that triggered the feature will display a bet multiplier prize up to 10 times your total bet. With 3 spins awarded, Gold Persistent symbols that helped trigger the feature will reveal its function before the spins begin.

When a new symbol lands, it becomes sticky and the spins counter resets back to 3. Filling a row entirely with symbols will see 1 more row opened which allows for new symbols to land in the new row. You can do this 4 times for 4 extra rows in total. Below you’ll find a list of all symbols (with descriptions) that can land:

• Bonus: Reveals a bet multiplier value between 1 and 10 x bet
• Collector: It collects all values on the grid and adds them to its value

• Adjacent Collector: Collects values from the 8 adjacent positions to its value
• Persistent Adjacent Collector: Collects all the values from the 8 adjacent positions to its value at the end of the spin and every spin that follows.
• Payer: Reveals a bet multiplier value and adds it to all other symbols on the grid.
• Persistent Payer: Reveal a bet multiplier value and adds it to all other symbols on the grid for that spin and every spin that follows (it doesn’t pay itself though).
• Adjacent Payer: Reveals a bet multiplier value and adds its value to all adjacent symbols.
• Persistent Adjacent Payer: Reveals a bet multiplier value and adds it to all adjacent symbols at the end of that spin and every spin that follows.
• Sniper: It doubles the value of 3-8 other Bonus symbols and can do so multiple times.
• Persistent Sniper: It doubles the value of 3-8 other Bonus symbols at the end of that spin and every spin that follows. It can also double the value multiple times.
• Collector Payer: Selects 3-5 symbols as targets and adds their values to its own and pays out its updated value to each of those targets.
• Persistent Collector Payer: Selects 3-5 symbols as targets at the end of each spin and adds their values to its own and pays out its updated value to each of those targets.
• Arms Dealer: Converts 1-4 Bonus symbols into a special symbol which then performs its function.
• Persistent Arms Dealer: Converts 1 Bonus symbol into a special symbol at the end of that spin and every spin that follows. It then performs its action.
• Necromancer: Brings 2-7 already used non-persistent special symbols back to life which can be targeted several times.
• Persistent Necromancer: Brings 1-7 already used non-persistent special symbols back to life at the end of that spin and every spin that follows. The same symbol can be chosen several times.
• Persistent Shapeshifter: Turns into a Collector, Payer, Sniper, Collector Payer, Arms Dealer or Unlocker symbol after every spin.
• Unlocker: Unlocks an extra row.
• Reset Plus: Increases the starting value of spins by 1.
• Upgrader: Upgrades 1 to 3 special symbols into their Persistent version.

The Money Cart Bonus feature will end if you run out of spins or if you’re lucky enough to win the 150,000 times bet max payout.

The Money Train 4 slot had a lot to live up with the 3 previous games being extremely popular. Relax Gaming has put a lot into this release which does the series justice in my opinion. Graphically, I love the futuristic take on the dystopian/steampunk theme which gives Money Train 4 its own identity so to speak.

When it comes to the gameplay, Relax Gaming has kept true to previous games in the series with a similar Money Cart Bonus feature. There is a new bandit, the Arms Dealer, which transforms up to 4 Bonus symbols into another special symbol. The Adjacent symbols are a welcome addition and perform their functions on nearby symbols.

I like the Unlocker symbol which gives you more rows and increases your chances for more special symbols to land. The Reset Plus symbol gives you another spin which keeps the action going that little bit longer. However, the Upgrader symbol is the best of the new additions as it transforms up to 3 special symbols into Persistent versions. This can, in turn, trigger a chain reaction of huge wins.

As with other Money Train series slots, the Persistent versions of special symbols are the key to winning big. Applying on that spin and future spins, I like the Persistent Shapeshifter as it can change into a different special symbol with each spin. If you get an Arms Dealer symbol, you’ll benefit from up to 4 extra special symbols.

With an extra bandit and more special symbols, the Money Train 4 slot also offers 150,000 times bet max wins. In summary, MT4 is bigger and better than previous games in the series with improvements to the visuals, soundtrack and Money Cart Bonus feature. Unfortunately, though, this last ride of the rails is the last in the series with no Money Train 5 coming. However, I’ve heard rumours there will be some spin-off involving some of the bandits. Let’s hope there is.
