With a Wild West theme, the Dead, Dead or Deader slot follows a long line of formidable Wild West-inspired slots from Nolimit City. The first thing you’ll notice is the red palette dominating the scene almost exclusively. Representing blood I assume, it reminds me of certain slot games by Hacksaw Gaming that primarily use one colour (i.e. Evil Eyes, Cash Crew and Slayers Inc).

The soundtrack is quite serene but it sets the tone for the bloodbath that is sure to follow. According to Nolimit City, there are “so many bullets that people will mistake you for Swiss cheese”. The focus is on shooting, hanging and death so hold tight.

On the reels, symbols include typewriter-style A, K, Q, J and 10 royals. The higher-value symbols include handcuffs, whiskey jugs, sheriff badges, pistols and a character named Dudeski. Dudeski is the best-paying symbol rewarding you with 1.2 times your total bet for 5 in combination. Here is a list of all symbol payouts:

Dead, Dead or Deader comes with a Skull Wild symbol which also pays 1.2 x bet for 5 in combination. It also substitutes for all paying symbols mentioned. Other symbols include the xNudge Wild and Tombstone Scatter.

Dead, Dead or Deader Mobile

Despite looking like a blood-splattered newspaper, Dead, Dead or Deader was created using HTML5 technology. This allows for play on mobile, tablet and desktop devices, including iOS and Android handsets. Having a 5x3 reel layout, it works perfectly in Portrait Mode.

The Dead, Dead or Deader slot has 6 bonus features. With Skull Wilds that come with multipliers depending on the reel they land on, it’s all about xNudge Wilds which nudge to occupy the reel with the multiplier increasing with each nudge. The xNudge Wilds remain in play with a free respin to follow, stay in position with the multiplier doubling or they disappear from the reels. In the free spins, the multipliers double or trebled with each free spin.

Wild Multiplier

Look out for the Skull Wild symbol lands on any of the 5 reels. A Skull Wild on reel 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 will contain a multiplier value of 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x respectively. These multipliers will impact any winning combinations it’s part of.

xNudge Wilds

There is an xNudge Wild symbol which appears stacked on reels 2, 3 and 4 (i.e. the 3 central reels). When it lands, it nudges to become fully visible on the reel(s). Each nudge increases the win multiplier by 1. Furthermore, xNudge Wild multipliers are additive. After nudging, the following can occur:

• The Hanging: The guy at the bottom of the stacked xNudge Wild is hanged and rewards you with a free respin with the xNudge Wild becoming sticky for that respin.
• The Deadlock: When the respin finishes, the hanged guy can suffer an extra neck snap (known as the Deadlock) which doubles the multiplier value and sees the xNudge Wild sticky for another respin. After every respin, the multiplier displays the eventual upcoming respins xNudge Wild multiplier value (up to 999x). 
• The Dropout: The guy at the bottom of the xNudge Wild is hanged but falls out. With no respin awarded, the multiplier value reverts to its previous value.

Dead Spins 

With the Tombstone Scatter symbol only landing on reels 2 to 5 (i.e. not reel 1), landing 3 Tombstone Scatters will activate the Dead Spins feature with 12 free spins. If you land 2 Scatters, they will transform into Skull Wilds with multipliers based on the usual Wild Multiplier calculation (depending on which reels they land on).

Except for the final free spin, xNudge Wilds are sticky for at least 1 extra free spin. With the xNudge Multiplier doubled with every free spin, landing a Tombstone Scatter on reel 5 will upgrade the feature to the Deader Spins feature (with an additional 2 free spins).

Deader Spins

The Deader Spins feature is triggered by landing 4 Tombstone Scatters during a base game spin or by landing a Scatter in the Dead Spins feature. 12 free spins are awarded when activated from the base game or 14 free spins when you access it from the Dead Spins feature.

Working like the Dead Spins feature, the sticky xNudge Wild multiplier is tripled with every free spin (instead of doubled). The maximum multiplier value is 999x. 

Nolimit Booster

As expected, there is a Nolimit Booster feature which gives you a better chance of landing more Scatters or xNudge Wilds. With 3 options, below are all the details:

• xBet: Costing 1.5 x bet, you are guaranteed a Tombstone Scatter on reel 2. The RTP rate is 96.11%.
• 1 xNudge Wild: Costing 7 x bet, you are guaranteed 1 xNudge Wild on any of the 3 middle reels. The RTP rate is 96.13%.
• 3 xNudge Wilds: Costing 799 x bet, you are guaranteed 3 xNudge Wilds. The RTP rate is 96.14%.

Nolimit Bonus

Focusing on xNudge Wilds, the Dead, Dead or Deader slot game is a simpler game by Nolimit City that focuses on 1 mechanic. Graphically, I like what NLC has done as it gives the game a single focus (like the mechanic used).

In terms of the gameplay, Skull Wilds come with multipliers according to what reels they land on. The key is the xNudge Wild symbol. Nudging to occupy the reel entirely with a win multiplier increase for each nudge, there are 1 of 3 scenarios which determine what happens next.

The Hanging gives you a free respin with the xNudge Wild in position. With The Deadlock, the multiplier value is doubled with the xNudge Wild remaining in position for a further respin. If the xNudge Wild stays on the reel(s), the multiplier values doubles each time until The Dropout occurs. Here, the xNudge Wild disappears with no respin to follow.

Nolimit City has then added 2 free spins features. In the Dead Spins, xNudge Wilds are sticky for at least another free spin with the multiplier doubling each time. With the Deader Spins, the multiplier trebles each time! Multipliers can reach 999x in the base game or either free spins game. 

That said, things get interesting with the Nolimit Booster. With the xBet option on (1 Scatter on reel 2), you will trigger the Dead or Deader Spins a lot more frequently than without it:

• Dead Spins: 1 in 374 spins vs 1 in 135 spins (with xBet on)
• Deader Spins: 1 in 13,800 spins vs 1 in 12,500 spins (with xBet on)
