The graphics, music, and sound effects of the Big Bass Splash slot are more than satisfactory, which means this title passes the first test. Still, analyzing the game's crucial features is way more important.
By crucial/key game features, we mean the story, grid, paylines, maximum win limits, bonuses, and other important things. Detailed information about them is available in our Big Bass Splash slot review below.
Like all our slot game reviews, this one will help you make a sound decision before activating this title.
Theme – Fishing
This release has no subthemes or hidden messages – the Big Bass Splash slot is about fishing. Players are taken to a lake where they can support the experienced angler in his effort to catch this fish species. Judging by the visuals, the story takes place somewhere in North America.
In addition to the fish and the fisherman, players can see fishing equipment and an exciting vehicle.
One of the best ways to familiarize yourself with the story here is to analyze the payout table. The first five basic symbols are unrelated to the theme (playing card icons), but the rest are. So, we have several Bass Fish in different sizes and shapes that also serve as Money icons, a Tackle Box, a Firefly Bait, a Fishing Rod, and a Monster Truck.
The Fisherman with his big catch is a Wild icon, and the green Bass is a Scatter symbol.
We have yet another slot by Pragmatic Play with a standard set of 5 reels. Each reel has 3 rows leading us to a 5x3 grid.
Just like the reels and rows, the number of paylines in the Big Bass Splash online slot is standard. Some of you might have already guessed that there are 10 non-adjustable paylines. Players will hit a winning combo whenever they have three, four, or five basic icons of the same kind on one payline.
We can't talk about a detailed slot review without highlighting the RTP. This theoretical percentage will help you better understand what to expect in terms of returns after long gaming sessions. The Big Bass Splash RTP is 96.71% which is more than average.
This doesn't mean you will find the same percentage in all online casinos where this release is available. The casino sites can change the figures and offer lower or bigger rates according to their deal with the developer and the jurisdiction.
The table below includes information about the Big Bass Splash RTP in various online casinos in the UK. When choosing a gambling website, check our reviews and read more about the casino's welcome bonuses and deals, selection of casino games, security, and safety, banking options, etc.
At OLBG, we have a page listing all slot sites we recommend. So, if you are a slot aficionado from the UK, we advise reading this page.
This is one of the titles with the widest stake ranges we have seen. With a minimum bet of £0.1 and a maximum stake of £250 per spin, you can enjoy the Big Bass Splash slot if you are a casual player or a high roller. Every player can also change the coin value and the number of coins.
Most Pragmatic Play slots have a maximum win cap of 5,000x the base bet. The Big Bass Splash online slot also belongs to this group of releases.
As mentioned above, the Fish in different sizes and shapes are Money symbols in addition to their role as regular ones. They display a random money value that players can get only when the Free Spins feature is active. The random values can be as low as 2x and as high as 5,000x the total bet.
There's a Scatter icon in this game in the form of a Green Bass Fish. It can end on any reel, and landing three or more Scatter icons will activate the Free Spins bonus feature. Depending on the number of triggering Fish (three, four, or five), you can expect 10, 15, or 20 free spins, respectively.
Also, when players get two Scatters on the reels in the base game, the slot can randomly provide a third Scatter. The reels without Scatters will respin for a chance to get a third Fish and activate Free Spins, or a hook can reveal one.
Before the bonus round begins, up to five modifiers that will be used for the following round are randomly chosen. First, you can expect More Fish, meaning more fish will be available on the grid. The More Fisherman modifier delivers more Wilds, while the More Dynamites, Hooks, and Bazookas increase the chances of hitting these features. Also, the +2 Spins modifier delivers 2 extra free spins for the subsequent round.
The Wild icon looks like a Fisherman next to his catch. During Free Spins, each Wild collects the values from Money icons, and the Wild icons are also collected. For every 4 Wilds you gather, you will receive 10 additional free spins. The multiplier for the Money icon collection goes up to 2x for level 2, 3x for level 3, and 10x for level 4.
Remember that the multiplier is applied to the wins during the retriggered spins. Lastly, randomly the game can deliver more Money symbols, more Wilds, or change the icons.
If there's one thing that this game misses, that's a direct jackpot reward. But this is not unusual for modern slots that usually come without such a prize. Still, if you want to try a title like that, we recommend checking our list of the best jackpot slot games.
Play Experience & First Impressions
It's difficult for me to share my first impressions when I end a 100-spin test with an RTP of just 18.4%. Still, this doesn't mean that the Big Bass Splash slot is a game you should avoid. As the old saying goes, "don't judge a book by its cover" (or a slot game by a 100-spin test).
In addition, to the low RTP, I also witnessed a low win frequency. The wins happened like once in ten spins, and the only good thing here is that they were relatively big, and the biggest was worth 12 times my bet and included a few fish combos.
As for the free spins round, which is basically the only bonus you can trigger here (the others are related to it), I had five spins with two Scatters. Just one of these spins provided two respins, which didn't deliver a third Scatter. Long story short, I didn't activate free spins even though I was relatively close to this.
I don't have any complaints about the music and graphics of this game. The tune and sound effects were actually catchy, and the visuals were more or less standard for today's slots.
