Odds were 5/2 for a recession in 2022 last October but over a year on the odds have changed

Our news piece this time last year looked at a variety of different outcomes for 2022, including whether or not there will be a recession.

At the time, bookmakers gave an 83% chance that no recession would happen during this year.

That has changed drastically in the space of a year though with the odds now heavily backing a recession to happen in the remaining months of the year.

The odds of a recession have flipped massively in the last 12 months, with it now odds on that we get one in the UK by the end of 2022 compared to the 5/2 odds it was this time last year.
