Betting odds given around potential record hot weather in the UK at some point this month
With massive heatwaves across Europe in recent weeks we've seen UK Betting Sites start to offer odds that we see record temperatures in the UK at some point this month.
Reports in GBNews earlier this week point at a heatwave coming to the UK in August to end a spell of wet and windy weather that has seemingly been all summer so far.
August looks likely to kick off with more of the same weather that we've been seeing so far this summer with rain falling across the UK more and more.
The middle of the month though should see a heatwave and William Hill are offering odds of 16/1 that we see August's hot weather record broke in the UK.
The current record for hot weather in August in the UK is 38.5C which was recorded in Faversham in Kent on 10th August 2003.
Odds also given for the UK's all-time record temperature to be broken at 20/1
With heatwaves expected in the UK this month further odds are also given on whether the all-time record temperature will be broken across the UK.
The current hottest day of all-time in the UK was recorded last year on 19 July 2022 when the temperature hit 40.3C in Coningsby, Lincolnshire.
The latest betting odds are as big as 20/1 that we see the all-time weather record broken this month with just a 4.8% chance it happens.

A blazing heatwave swept across Southern Europe throughout last month, with temperature records expected to be hit when full recordings are published.
Italy went under a red alert, with 10 cities including Rome and Florence facing the heatwave's fury as temperatures surged to an astonishing 48.8°C.
The Copernicus satellite, designed to detect heat, revealed that portions of Italy had already surpassed the 45°C mark confirming the scorching conditions.
