  • Fleur East (2/1) and Rylan Clark (5/2) are next in line in the betting.

Zoe Ball Leaps to the Front in Strictly Hosting Race

After announcing her departure from BBC Radio 2, Zoe Ball has moved to 1/2 favourite with betting experts to become the new host of Strictly Come Dancing, according to the latest odds.

With Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman stepping down after this weekend’s final, speculation around their replacements has reached fever pitch.

Ball, a former Strictly: It Takes Two host and long-time BBC favourite, is now heavily tipped to return to the franchise in a bigger role.

Saturday’s final will see George Clarke, Karen Carney, and Amber Davies dance for the Glitterball trophy but attention is quickly turning to who will present the show next year.

Familiar Faces Lead the Market, but Surprise Names Remain

Zoe Ball's Strictly history, combined with her decision to leave Radio 2, has been seen by many as a signal of an incoming promotion to BBC One’s flagship dance show.

Fleur East, current It Takes Two presenter and former contestant, sits second in the betting at 2/1 and could be in contention for a solo or shared presenting role.

Rylan Clark (5/2) is also seen as a strong contender given his popularity and recent success as a live show host.

Further down the market, Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham (7/2) is attracting speculative attention, while current judge Anton Du Beke (6/1) and former winner Stacey Dooley (8/1) remain interesting picks thanks to their Strictly ties.

Expert Insight

What the expert says...
Zoe Ball stepping away from her long-standing Radio 2 show just days before Tess and Claudia’s exit feels like more than coincidence. It’s hard to see past her now, even at 1/2.
