Chris McCausland now dramatically backed into favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing

Betting odds have changed right around on who will win this year's Strictly Come Dancing with comedian Chris McCausland backed into favourite after the opening weekend of the series.

Chris is Strictly's first ever blind contestant and many wondered how he and professional partner Dianne Buswell would cope against all odds in their first dance.

The judges gave the pair a total of 23 points out of a possible 40 for their Cha Cha Cha to Twist and Shout with the British public raving about the performance by McCausland.

UK Betting Sites have instantly slashed his odds of winning the show after a surge of bets on the outcome after the first live episode, with his odds tumbling down from 12/1 into 3/1 favourite.

Some betting sites now put him above everyone else in their latest betting market with those odds seeing his chance of winning go from 7.7% to 25% in the space of 2 days.

What the expert says...
Chris McCausland has been backed into 3/1 favourite to win this year's Strictly Come Dancing after impressing in his first dance of the series. McCausland is the show's first blind contestant and he proved despite this that he has great feet in his opening dance with Dianne Buswell!

Tasha Ghouri follows in the betting market as second favourite

Former Love Island star Tasha Ghouri headed into the opening weekend of Strictly as the betting favourite and proved exactly why with a fantastic first performance.

Ghouri scored a total of 30 points to put her joint second alongside Sarah Hadland in the overall leaderboard but that performance wasn't enough to put her top.

JLS star JB Gill heads the leaderboard with a total of 31 points with three 8s and a 7 given by the judges for his dance with partner Amy Dowden.
