The Contenders
Sadiq Khan is the incumbent Mayor of London. His nearest rivals in the betting for the next Election are Rory Stewart and David Lammy.
Rory Stewart
Stewart is the former Secretary of State for International Development and has been replaced in that role by Alok Sharma, who is actually the favourite in the next cabinet minister to Leave post betting, since Gavin Williams' exit and Dominic Raabs demotion.
Stewart resigned from the Conservative party in 2019 and whilst planned to run for Mayor this year as an independent, he withdrew due to the cancellation.
David Lammy
David Lammy is a Labour MP serving Tottenham in London and is the current Shadow Secretary of State for Justice and Shadow Lord Chancellor.
He contested the 2016 mayoral election and finished fourth behind Khan, Tessa Jowell and Diane Abbot
The Also-Rans
Piers Morgan seems to appear in every betting market for every event, including Next Presenter of Match of the Day, a potential contestant on I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, and even in the Next Prime Minister Betting, so it is no surprise to find him in the betting for London Mayor although 50/1 odds really do reflect his chances.
That said, he is given a better chance of the position than Nigel Farage, who is a 66/1 shot, although the latter is more likely to table a bid than the former GMB presenter who famously walked out of the show.
