Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom moves back into 2/1 favourite to be the next manager sacked
Betting remains available on the next Premier League manager to be sacked with bookmakers putting Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom back into favourite in the market.
OLBG has looked at the dreaded sack race once again with Heckingbottom shortening back into 2/1 to be the next manager to go after the Blades 1-1 draw against Brighton on Sunday.
Sheffield United sit in 19th place in the Premier League table and are unbeaten in two games with a win against Wolves followed by that 1-1 draw away to Brighton.
BetVictor though have placed Heckingbottom as the favourite once more to be sacked with his odds coming back into 2/1 to leave after he had drifted in the past fortnight.
Next Premier League Manager to Leave | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Paul Heckingbottom | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Erik Ten Hag | 5/2 | 28.6% |
Vincent Kompany | 6/1 | 14.3% |
Andoni Iraola | 8/1 | 11.1% |

What the expert says...
Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom moves back into favourite to be the next manager sacked in the Premier League with the latest odds suggesting a 33% chance that he is the next to go!
Burnley boss Vincent Kompany's odds to go next shorten further to just 6/1
Vincent Kompany's odds to be the next Premier League manager to go have been slashed in half following another defeat for his side at the weekend.
Burnley faced a tricky task away at Arsenal on Saturday and came up short against the Gunners with a tough 3-1 loss as Kompany came up against his former City workmate Mikel Arteta.
That defeat sees Burnley remain at the bottom of the Premier League with just 4 points earned in their first 12 games and they now sit 5 points off of safety.
Kompany has now moved into 6/1 from the 12/1 odds that he was sitting at this time last week as the pressure ramps up.
The Sack Race: Betting on the Next Manager to be Sacked
Sheffield United are the 1/7 favourites to be relegated this season
Sheffield United remain the heavy favourites to be relegated from the Premier League this season with bookmakers putting them as short as 1/7 to go down.
Fellow newly-promoted side Luton Town sit just behind them at 1/6 in the betting market with Burnley the third favourites with bookies at 4/7 to be relegated.
These betting odds now suggest that it will be the three promoted teams from last season that go straight back down to the Championship at the end of this campaign.
Premier League Relegation 23/24 | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Sheffield Utd | 1/7 | 87.5% |
Luton Town | 1/6 | 85.7% |
Burnley | 4/7 | 63.6% |
Bournemouth | 9/4 | 30.8% |
Everton | 6/1 | 14.3% |
