Poor Things is now the third favourite to win Best Picture at the Oscars after Venice Film Festival success
Betting remains available for the 2024 Oscars with the coveted Best Picture prize one of the main markets that bookmakers have priced up ahead of the nominations reveal.
Poor Things is a latest edition in the betting market following the recent Venice Film Festival which saw the movie win the Golden Lion award which is the highest prize at the event.
This caused a shake-up in the betting market to win the Best Picture at next year's Oscars with Poor Things coming straight into the market at 6/1 behind Oppenheimer and Killers of the Flower Moon.
William Hill's latest betting odds suggest that there's a 14% chance of the movie winning Best Picture at the 2024 event with Oppenheimer remaining the shortest price.

Emma Stone's performance in Poor Things also achieved massive critical acclaim during the Venice Film Festival and she's now moved into second favourite for the Best Actress award.
Stone has won the Best Actress award previously for her performance in 'La La Land' which saw the Academy hand her the statuette in 2017.
Bookmakers have her as the second favourite behind Fantasia Barrino who is at the top of the betting market for her role in 'The Color Purple'.

When will the 2024 Oscars take place and nominations be revealed?
The 2024 Oscars are set to take place on Sunday March 10 2024 but if the ongoing writers and actor strikes are still ongoing we may see it postponed.
Nominations for the prestigious awards show take place a couple of months early with the final list expected to be announced on 23 January 2024.
The show will be held in the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and will be the 96th Academy Awards.
