Dodds Out After Tough Start

League One side Wycombe Wanderers have sacked head coach Mike Dodds following a dismal start to the 2025–26 campaign.

The 39-year-old managed just one win in eight league games, leaving the Chairboys struggling near the foot of the table.

Dodds had arrived in January after Matt Bloomfield departed Adams Park for Luton Town, guiding Wycombe to the League One play-offs in May.

They eventually lost narrowly to Charlton Athletic, who went on to secure promotion.

However, Dodds struggled to build on that momentum, recording only nine wins in 31 games in all competitions during his tenure.

The poor start this season left the board with little choice but to make a change and attention turns to who will be next Wycombe manager.

Who Could Replace Dodds?

Sam Grace, Wycombe’s current academy head, has emerged as the 3/1 favourite. His familiarity with the club and players makes him a logical choice if the board opts for continuity.

Former player Adam Hinshelwood is 4/1 and seen as a strong candidate for stepping up into the EFL.

A return for Gareth Ainsworth, the man who famously guided Wycombe into the Championship and became synonymous with the club, cannot be ruled out.

Priced at 5/1, Ainsworth would be a popular appointment amongst fans.
