TalkSPORT Bet have Robinson just ahead of current Rovers interim boss Ian Dawes in the betting market who remains in charge of the club while there's no permanent manager.

Tranmere dismissed Micky Mellon 9 days ago following his second spell in charge of the club

The Tranmere board decided to dismiss manager Micky Mellon 9 days ago now after six wins since mid-October saw his team slide down the League Two table to 14th.

Mellon had previously been at the club in 2016-2020 and had led the club to back-to-back promotions to League One in that first spell before returning in June 2021.

Ian Dawes is the caretaker manager currently at Tranmere and he is now into second favourite in the betting market at 3/1 to get the job on a permanent basis.

Rovers now 13/8 to finish in the Top Half in League Two this season

A top half finish looks to be the best expectation for the remainder of this season now as they sit 17 points off the relegation zone and 12 points off the Top 7 in the League Two table.

The pressure being off the club and players may prove a positive for any manager who comes in with a clear spell of games available to settle into the club before the new season.

Bookies do offer odds on Tranmere finishing in the Top Half with the club 13/8 to do so as they sit 2 points below the Top Half in 14th place.
