Steven Gerrard is now the 2/1 favourite with bookmakers to be the next Leeds manager with the betting market looking fairly open around who the next gaffer will be.

Gerrard has been without a club since being sacked as Aston Villa manager earlier this season and he'll be looking to jump back into football with a job like Leeds.

BetVictor have the former Liverpool player as the clear favourite in the betting market with a 33% chance of taking over at Elland Road according to the odds.

Latest reports from The Sun suggest that Gerrard is wanted by potential new US owners with the current set of players wanting Sam Allardyce to remain in charge.

Sam Allardyce managed the club for the last 4 games of the season and he is 3/1

Sam Allardyce had been brought into Leeds United to help them stay in the Premier League but he failed to keep them up in the 4 games that he was in charge for.

Despite this though the players seemed to by into his style of play though and recent reports suggest that they want him to stay on going into the Championship.

Allardyce was originally only brought in for those final 4 games and it's unclear whether he will want to stay on as manager himself or move on in the near future.

Bookies make him the second favourite in the betting market behind Gerrard with the latest odds suggesting there's a 25% chance that Big Sam takes over.

Leeds now 11/2 to win the Championship next season

Early odds are available for the 2023/24 Championship season and the betting market puts Leeds as the 11/2 second favourites behind Leicester to win the division next season.

Leeds will of course be hoping to go straight back up to the Premier League so it's no surprise to see them towards the top of the betting market to win the league.

The Championship looks like a tough one next season though with so many big teams in the division and you could make a case for a good portion of the league to top it.

Leicester 5/1 16.7%
Leeds 11/2 15.4%
Middlesbrough 10/1 9.1%
Southampton 10/1 9.1%
Ipswich 14/1 6.7%
