  • Henry Cavill’s odds slashed from 4/1 to 6/4 by bet365, now clear favourite to be next Bond

  • Surge in bets suggests renewed interest or inside knowledge around Cavill’s casting potential

Momentum now behind Henry Cavill to be the next Bond

The race to be the next James Bond has taken another twist, with Henry Cavill now the clear frontrunner according to the latest odds from bet365

Cavill's price has shortened significantly from 4/1 to just 6/4 over the past 48 hours, following what appears to be a notable shift in betting activity.

The British actor, best known for his roles as Superman and Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher, has long been a fan-favourite for the role.

Bet365 reported on the shift in odds earlier today, with the massive market change now suggesting a 40% implied pro of Cavill playing the iconic character.

UK Betting Sites continue to offer odds on the role with the latest market looking like this:

bet365’s Trading Pro Steve Freeth talks on market move

This market shift comes after a quiet few months on the Bond front, suggesting that punters are responding to either new whispers or a coordinated wave of bets.

In volatile betting markets like this, it's not uncommon for sharp activity to signal a development that hasn’t hit the press just yet.

Henry Cavill has been linked with the role for a while and has been attracting interest ever since we opened the market. However, that has been turned up a notch or two over the last 48 hours with his odds shortening from 4/1 into 6/4.
