Jeremy Hunt out to 6/1 second favourite to take over from Boris Johnson next

Jeremy Hunt has drifted in the betting market to 6/1 second favourite to take over from Boris Johnson once the current Conservative leader leaves his role.

Hunt was the 4/1 clear favourite just a month ago but the market has flipped around completely since then with the appearance of Mordaunt high in the market.

The current Chair of the Health and Social Care Select Committee sees himself as a more popular figure to Johnson according to newspaper reports and this could help his campaign in becoming next leader.

Hunt was the final opposition against Johnson back in 2019 in the last leadership contest, so it may make sense that it's Hunt who takes over next.

Various Boris Johnson specials still up around his exit date!

It seems like week by week Boris Johnson becomes increasingly under pressure in his role as Prime Minister.

For the first time, 2022 is the 13/8 favourite date to see the end of Johnson's reign, with the pressure mounting on him.

The latest negative story around Boris Johnson is that he flew home from Cornwall on a private jet after a family beach holiday.

This has seen a lot of the press tear into Johnson around the effect his trip had on the climate.

Boris Johnson's Exit Date odds do keep changing though, so it's a market to keep an eye on.

Boris Johnson's exit date is now expected to be in 2022 according to the bookies betting odds. They make it 13/8 that he leaves this year.
