- Steve Bruce sacked as Blackpool boss after poor start to the season
- Ian Evatt and Richie Wellens joint 1/1 favourites for next manager
- Stephen Dobbie and Steve Banks placed in temporary charge
Blackpool have sacked manager Steve Bruce following a disappointing start to their League One campaign, which sees the club sitting second-bottom after 11 games.
Bookmakers are now offering odds on who will replace Bruce as the next Blackpool manager with two candidates sharing favouritism in the market.
Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat to AFC Wimbledon proved the final straw for the Seasiders with supporters at Bloomfield Road voicing their frustration at both the performance and Bruce’s leadership.
The 64-year-old admitted post-match that the result was “not acceptable” and “nowhere near what’s required,” taking full responsibility before the club confirmed his departure on Sunday evening.
BetVictor's latest odds gives both Ian Evatt and Richie Wellens a 50% probability of becoming the next Blackpool manager.

Evatt and Wellens Joint at the Top
Bookmakers have priced Ian Evatt and Richie Wellens as joint 1/1 favourites to replace Bruce at Bloomfield Road.
Evatt could well be a popular figure at Blackpool having made more than 200 appearances for the club as a player. His playing style and connection with the fans make him a natural fit.
Richie Wellens, meanwhile, has impressed with Leyton Orient and is seen as a rising managerial talent.
Duff, Dobbie, and Adam Among Outsiders
Former Republic of Ireland winger Damien Duff (6/1) is the leading outsider.
Duff was most recently manager of Shelbourne in the League of Ireland Premier Division, where he earned plaudits for revitalising the club.
Interim boss Stephen Dobbie (10/1), a familiar name to Blackpool supporters, has once again been trusted with a caretaker role and could force his way into contention with strong short-term results.
Club legend Charlie Adam (10/1), now coaching at Everton, also features among the early runners.
His ties to the club and leadership qualities continue to make him a sentimental favourite whenever the Seasiders change managers.
