I break betting odds news as it happens, so you’re never left behind when the market moves or a top offer lands.

  • Mohamed Salah plays his final Liverpool game on Sunday against Brentford at Anfield, with farewell mosaics planned for both Salah and Andy Robertson
  • Al Ittihad Jeddah are the 11/4 favourites with bet365 to be Salah's next club, with any MLS team available at 7/2
  • Salah publicly accused Liverpool and Arne Slot of having "thrown him under the bus" after being dropped for three successive games in December

The End of an Era

On Sunday afternoon, Mohamed Salah will walk onto the Anfield pitch for the final time as a Liverpool player, and the club he has served with such distinction for nine extraordinary years will honour him with a mosaic alongside fellow departing legend Andy Robertson.

It will be emotional, it will be magnificent, and it will be complicated. Bet365 are among the leading bookmakers offering odds on Salah's next club, and for those looking to back their prediction on where the Egyptian King ends up, the best football betting sites have the full range of transfer markets available.

But before any of that, there is Sunday, and nine years of history to honour.

The records are almost beyond cataloguing: 255 goals in 435 appearances, third on Liverpool's all-time scoring list. A Premier League title, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the League Cup. A 2017-18 season in which he scored 44 goals and broke the Premier League single-season scoring record.

He is, quite simply, one of the greatest players ever to play in England. And on Sunday, at Anfield, he will say goodbye.

A Farewell Clouded by Controversy

The circumstances of Salah's departure have not been straightforward. Liverpool's title defence has been catastrophic; the defending champions sit fifth in the table, 23 points behind Arsenal with one game remaining, having suffered 19 league defeats and conceded 52 goals in a season that Salah himself has been unable to rescue.

His own numbers have declined sharply from last season's extraordinary peak, seven goals and six assists from 26 league appearances, by far his worst return since joining in 2017, in a campaign that imploded dramatically at Elland Road in December.

It was there that Salah told reporters Liverpool and Arne Slot had "thrown him under the bus" after being dropped for three consecutive games in what was the most public falling-out between a player and manager at Anfield in living memory.

The relationship has recovered sufficiently for Sunday's planned tribute, although Salah posted a further statement last weekend that seemingly called out Slot.

Saudi Arabia, MLS or a European Swan Song?

Al Ittihad Jeddah lead the market at 11/4, and the Saudi club's interest in Salah is far from new.

The Saudi Pro League made a significant approach for the Egyptian in the summer of 2023 when Salah was at the peak of his powers, and while that move did not materialise, the financial landscape for a 33-year-old leaving on a free transfer makes the Saudi option considerably more compelling now than it was three years ago.

Any MLS team at 7/2 is the market's recognition that North America represents the second most likely destination, and the timing of the 2026 World Cup, getting underway in the United States, Canada and Mexico in June, has raised the profile of MLS to extraordinary heights.

Roma at 6/1 is the option that would delight neutrals in a return to the club where he truly announced himself to European football before Liverpool came calling.
