The indie rock duo have been one of the biggest bands in the UK in the last year with their overnight success seemingly growing and growing.

Ladbrokes have kept them as favourites to win the Mercury Prize with Little Simz just behind them in the market at 3/1.

Shortlist announced this week with Little Simz biggest market mover

The full shortlist for the Mercury Prize Award was announced earlier this week with 12 acts nominated for the best album of the year.

The full list of nominees are:

  • Yard Act - The Overload
  • Wet Leg - Wet Leg
  • Self Esteem - Prioritise Pleasure
  • Sam Fender - Seventeen Going Under
  • Nova Twins - Supernova
  • Kojey Radical - Reason To Smile
  • Joy Crookes - Skin
  • Jessie Buckley and Bernard Butler - For All Our Days That Tear The Heart
  • Harry Styles - Harry's House
  • Gwenno - Tresor
  • Fergus McCreadie - Forest Floor
  • Little Simz - Sometimes I Might Be Introvert

Little Simz was 7/1 to win the award when we last reported on the Mercury Prize, but has since come in in the betting market to just 3/1.

Harry Styles biggest name on the list but 16/1 to win the award

Harry Styles is arguably the biggest name on the list of nominees this year with his album 'Harry's House'.

Styles has been on a world tour for the last few months, performing at stadiums such as Wembley and his popularity just increases.

The nomination is unlike the Mercury Prize as it's quite rare that they go for a massive commercial album such as this one.

It just goes to show how well Styles has done in his solo career since One Direction went on hiatus back in 2016.

Harry Styles is by far the biggest name on the list to win the Mercury Prize this year, but is 16/1 to win the award with bookies.
