  • Significant Support for Ben Wallace see odds smashed into 7/1 from 40/1
  • Jeremy Hunt odds also crash from 10/1 to 6/1 following support with Bookmakers
  • Wallace may be considered a safer bet than Liz Truss or Tom Tugendhat
  • Rishi Sunak odds slide to 14/1 with Betting Sites

There has been some significant movement in the odds of Ben Wallace becoming the next Leader of the Conservative party, reflected in odds with betting sites being cut from 16/1 right into 7/1 in the last two weeks following consistent support from political bettors.

The chance of him becoming the next leader was as big as 40/1 as recently as February, but a sustained stream of bets on the cabinet minister has seen those odds more than quartered.

A constant stream of bets for Ben Wallace to become the next Conservative leader have seen his odds crash from as high as 40/1 to just 7/1 in recent weeks

Jeremy Hunt also Backed - Sunak Drifting

There has been some considerable support for Jeremy Hunt in the betting for the next Conservative Party leader in the last week with betting sites as well

The current Chair of the Health and Social Care Select Committee has held the position since 2020 and has seen his odds come in from 10/1 to as low as 6/1 before settling at the same 7/1 as Wallace in the last few days.

Liz Truss was a clear favourite at 3/1 at the turn of the year to become the next Leader of the Tory Party but those odds have drifted out to 6/1 although she just shades betting favouritism at the end of April.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak was previously favourite in the betting but has fallen away in the betting race whilst Liz Truss who was clear favourite at only 3/1 at the turn of the year has seen popularity fade since, but remains the 6/1 favourite with Smarkets.
