Bookmakers are giving specials ahead of the new series House of the Dragon, which is a prequel to hit show Game of Thrones.

The longest odds given are that the show is cancelled by HBO after one season at 7/1, giving a 12.5% chance that happens.

Betway give even further odds around the series which is set to premiere on August 21st on Sky Atlantic in the UK.

Bookies go 3/1 that the show wins Outstanding Drama Series Emmy

Game of Thrones is a 4-time winner of the Outstanding Drama Series Emmy and House of the Dragon will be looking to copy that.

According to the betting odds, the show has a 25% chance of winning the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series.

It took FIVE SEASONS for Game of Thrones to win the award though so it may be a while before that happens.

Squid Game is currently 11/2 for this year's Outstanding Drama Series award, with Succession leading the way in the betting.

Part of Betway's specials for House of the Dragon revolves around acting awards for two of the biggest stars in the series.

Matt Smith, who plays Daemon Targaryen, is 100/30 to win the Lead Drama Actor Emmy, with Emma D'Arcy, who plays Rhaenyra Targaryen, 9/2 to win the Actress version of the award.

Succession star Brian Cox is the evens favourite to win this year's Outstanding Actor in a Drama award.
