What the expert says...
This show is going to be a monster event. HBO’s investment, paired with a passionate global fanbase, makes it a strong contender for record-breaking success, but fans should temper expectations on any original cast involvement.

Market led by Record-Breaking premiere odds

With Harry Potter’s global fanbase and HBO’s production firepower, it’s no surprise that the reboot is tipped evens (1/1) to become the most-watched premiere on HBO Max when it eventually airs.

The streaming platform will be eyeing an audience surge rivalling House of the Dragon and The Last of Us.

While the series will feature an entirely new cast, whispers of potential cameos from the original film stars persist.

The market gives a 6/4 (40%) chance of any returning actor, from Emma Watson to Tom Felton, making a surprise appearance.

A specific Daniel Radcliffe cameo is considered less likely, priced at 10/1, though not impossible. The actor previously said he’s not interested in reprising the role right now, but a brief appearance in a non-Potter role can’t be ruled out entirely.
