I break betting odds news as it happens, so youโ€™re never left behind when the market moves or a top offer lands.

  • Olivia Colman is the current favourite to host SNL UK's second series, priced at 6/4
  • The show has been confirmed for a significantly expanded 12-episode run, up from eight episodes in its debut series, beginning in September 2026
  • Harry Styles, Joseph Quinn and Sam Fender round out a strong top tier, with a genuinely broad field of actors, musicians and comedians further down the market

Bigger Series Brings A Bigger Guessing Game

SNL UK is returning in style, and with it comes one of the more entertaining host betting markets of the year.

It was confirmed back in May 2026 that the show would be returning for a second series, and the betting experts have wasted no time building out a market on who might take on hosting duties across the expanded run.

With so many big names already in the conversation, this looks set to be a genuinely competitive race right up until the first episode is confirmed.

At the top of the betting, Olivia Colman currently holds the shortest price at 6/4, making her the clear favourite.

Colman's comedic timing and immense popularity would make for a natural fit with the show's format, though with the gap to the chasing pack relatively tight, this is far from a market with a runaway leader.

From Six Episodes To Twelve

The scale of the show's growth has been hard to miss.

The first series was initially commissioned for six episodes before that order was extended to eight, but series two goes considerably further still, with Sky confirming a hefty 12-episode run.

That expansion alone speaks volumes about how well the format has landed with UK audiences, and it also means considerably more hosting opportunities than last time around, a factor that's likely helped keep this market as wide open as it currently looks.

Lorne Michaels, the executive producer behind the entire Saturday Night Live franchise, struck a clearly positive tone about the show's progress.

Michaels said he was "incredibly proud" of the team behind the series, while also thanking Sky and its leadership for their continued support of the format on this side of the Atlantic.

Open Field Spanning Music, Film And Comedy

What stands out most about this year's market is just how broad it is.

Harry Styles and Joseph Quinn both feature prominently near the top, alongside musician Sam Fender, showing the show's appeal clearly extends well beyond traditional comedy circles.

Further down, the likes of David Tennant, Sabrina Carpenter and Tom Holland all trade at 4/1, while Olivia Dean, Richard Ayoade, Romesh Ranganathan, Madonna and Steve Coogan round out a field that spans generations, genres and industries in a way few other entertainment markets manage.

What the expert says...
This is one of the more fun markets to look at this year. Colman makes total sense as favourite, she's got exactly the sort of range this format needs. But I actually think Sam Fender's price is interesting, musicians hosting comedy shows doesn't always work but when it does it can be a real standout episode.
