Emma Raducanu is out to 16/1 to win the Sports Personality of the Year

Emma Raducanu was the winner of the 2021 Sports Personality of the Year award last year after a massive breakthrough year in Tennis.

Despite having to go through qualifiers to enter the US Open, Raducanu won every match at the tournament without dropping a single set.

Such an impressive year saw her become a household name, with over 9.2m peak viewers watching Raducanu win the US Open Final.

Bookmakers give odds of 16/1 that Raducanu wins the SPOTY award again this year after a tricky start to 2022.

Sports Personality Of The Year 2022 Winner Odds Probability
Lewis Hamilton 8/1 11,1%
Harry Kane 14/1 6.7%
Eve Muirhead 16/1 5.9%
Emma Raducanu 16/1 5.9%
George Russell 16/1 5.9%

Lewis Hamilton is the bookies favourite for the SPOTY award in 2022, after losing out on the F1 Drivers Championship brutally at the end of last year.

A tricky start to the 2022 Drivers Championship though may see Hamilton drift out in the odds for the SPOTY award this year.

Harry Kane features in the betting odds and if England have the dream World Cup he could well win the award.

Raducanu odds to win various Grand Slams this year

The French Open is the next Grand Slam on the way in the Tennis season, taking place at the end of May.

Raducanu has no clay court appearances to her name in her short ITF and WTA Tour career, so may find it hard to compete in this event.

The retirement of Ash Barty last week will have of course helped Raducanu's chances of winning big events in the upcoming years.

Barty was the world number one and favourite for every Grand Slam this year, but her shock retirement last week resulted in every player's odds shortening for the major events.

Raducanu is bookies fav for the Laureus Breakthrough of the Year award

The Laureus World Sports Awards is an annual award ceremony that honours the best men and women across sport.

Emma Raducanu is nominated for the Breakthrough of the Year award and bookie Paddy Power make her 5/6 favourite to win the award.

Laureus Breakthrough of the Year award
Odds Probability
Emma Raducanu 5/6 54.5%
Ariarne Titmus 3/1 25%
Yulimar Rojas 4/1 20%
Daniil Medvedev 4/1 20%

Australian swimmer Ariarne Titmus is the closest rival to Raducanu for the award according to the odds after winning two gold medals at the Summer Olympics.

Winning this award would again highlight just how big a breakthrough year Raducanu had, with the Tennis star looking for even more award success.

Emma Raducanu is the bookmakers favourite for the Laureus Breakthrough of the Year award, with odds of 5/6 giving her an implied probability of 54.5% of winning.
