Hamilton out to 4/1 for Drivers Championship this season

Lewis Hamilton and his Mercedes team have had a tough start to the season, with the Silver Arrows not firing anywhere near as they have done in the past few years.

Last weekend's 3rd and 4th place positions for the Mercedes team was a lot higher than they expected due to the Red Bull's both retiring.

F1 Betting Tips are proving popular at the moment, with plenty of OLBG tipsters looking to take advantage of the tricky betting start to the season.

F1 Drivers Championship Winner Odds Probability
Max Verstappen 2/1 33.3%
Charles Leclerc 3/1 25%
Lewis Hamilton 4/1 20%
Carlos Sainz 7/1 12.5%
George Russell 16/1 5.9%
Sergio Perez 80/1 1.2%

Hamilton's new teammate George Russell finished fourth behind the other Mercedes, but a tricky performance in qualifying already saw critics giving Russell stick.

Russell finished 9th in qualifying and was out performed by previous Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas which wouldn't have helped the mood in the Merc garage last weekend.

Mercedes Chief Technical Officer James Allison has said that the team expect to be in front of the pack within two to three races though.

Lewis Hamilton has already drifted out to 4/1 to win the Drivers Championship this season after the Mercedes has started the year looking remarkably slower than other cars on the grid.

Red Bull have nightmare start to the season!

Red Bull had the worst possible start to the 2022 F1 Season with two DNF's for their drivers at the Bahrain GP last weekend.

Max Verstappen was complaining about issues with his car throughout the second half of the race and that ultimately ended in engine failure.

With both steering issues and that engine failure on Verstappen's car, the Red Bull driver had to retire with three laps left of the race.

Sergio Perez, Verstappen's team mate, then had to retire himself after engine failure on the last lap of the race left him spinning out on the first corner of his last lap.

Charles Leclerc into 3/1 to win Drivers Championship!

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc is into 3/1 from his pre-season odds of 8/1 to win the Drivers Championship after winning the opening race of the season.

Leclerc had a great battle in the race with Verstappen, with the two drivers swapping places 5 times in 2 laps, before Leclerc eventually pushed on to win the race.

That strong performance from the Monégasque driver has ultimately seen him backed into favourite to win the Saudi Arabia GP next weekend.

Ferrari are now also leading the way in the odds for the Constructors Championship after the perfect 1-2 start for the team.

Constructors Championship Odds Probability
Ferrari 11/10 47.6%
Red Bull 5/2 28.6%
Mercedes 3/1 25%
McLaren 125/1 0.8%

Mercedes have won the last 8 Constructors Championships, but bookies are suggesting that there will be a change in the rankings this year with Ferrari big favourites to take over.

Charles Leclerc has been backed into 3/1 second favourite to win the Drivers Championship after a winning start to the season. Ferrari's 1-2 finish in the Bahrain GP has also seen their odds tumble into favourites to win the Constructors Championship this season!
