I break betting odds news as it happens, so you’re never left behind when the market moves or a top offer lands.

  • Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nassr ends in June 2025, and they’ve failed to qualify for the Club World Cup.
  • FIFA President Gianni Infantino hints at discussions for Ronaldo to join a competing club.
  • MLS teams and Sporting Lisbon are 3/1 joint favourites in the latest odds from Betfair.

Ronaldo Transfer Speculation Grows Ahead of Club World Cup

Cristiano Ronaldo's future is once again in the spotlight with his Al-Nassr contract set to expire at the end of June and crucially, the Saudi club has not qualified for FIFA’s expanded Club World Cup in 2025.

Speaking on a stream with iShowSpeed, FIFA President Gianni Infantino revealed that “discussions” are taking place about Ronaldo playing in the tournament suggesting a summer move is being engineered to get him into the competition.

Given the prestige of the event and Ronaldo's global status, bookmakers have quickly priced up possible destinations and the market is wide open.

Any MLS Side is currently joint favourite at 3/1 alongside Sporting Lisbon, with Seattle Sounders FC and Inter Miami the two MLS sides to have qualified so far.

Los Angeles FC face Club America in a Play-In match on May 31 for the final spot and Betfair give a 25% chance of Ronaldo moving to an MLS side next.

What the expert says...
The Club World Cup rumour changes everything. MLS move makes the most sense if FIFA wants Ronaldo on the world stage and with Inter Miami already in, the Messi-Ronaldo dream may finally happen.

Could MLS Finally Land Ronaldo?

The biggest narrative fans are watching is the long-awaited team up with Lionel Messi at Inter Miami.

The MLS side is already qualified for the Club World Cup and has the commercial infrastructure to pull off what would be the most marketable pairing in football history.

At 3/1, any MLS team leads the betting, but Inter Miami is believed to be the frontrunner among them.
