Barca and Liverpool Champions League Favourites

The Champions League group stage draw has now been made and the outright betting market with bookmakers for the 2025/26 season has taken shape.

Competition sponsors bet365 make Barcelona and Liverpool the joint favourites at 6/1, with defending champions PSG just behind at 13/2.

With the road to the final at Budapest’s Puskás Aréna officially underway, punters are eyeing up who will lift the famous trophy next May.

Both Barcelona and Liverpool are given an implied probability of 14.3% of winning the Champions League this season according to those odds.

Barcelona & Liverpool Head the Market

Liverpool’s busy summer transfer window, which saw Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Hugo Ekitike and Milos Kerkez arrive at Anfield, has only strengthened their chances of defending their Premier League crown and challenging for European honours.

Barcelona, meanwhile, remain formidable and are expected to make a deep run, having strengthened their squad in the close season.

PSG (13/2) are not far behind the two joint favourites after their victory over Inter Milan in last season’s final.

The French champions boast Ousmane Dembélé, currently the front-runner for the 2025 Ballon d’Or, and will be determined to prove they can win back-to-back titles.

What the expert says...
It seems hard to look past 6 time winners Liverpool for this year's Champions League after one of the best transfer windows of all time. Barcelona though are joint favourites alongside them in the latest betting market for a reason.
