Liverpool are favourites to beat Newcastle in Sunday's EFL Cup Final

This weekend sees the Carabao Cup Final take place at Wembley Stadium with Liverpool facing Newcastle in what looks to be a big game in their respective seasons.

UK Betting Sites are giving odds on the match with Liverpool the 1/3 favourites to lift the trophy on Sunday and Newcastle currently sitting as 12/5 underdogs.

Liverpool head into this match after being knocked out of the Champions League against PSG on Tuesday night and they will be looking to get back on track with a Cup Final win at Wembley on Sunday.

The Reds are expected to win the Premier League this season with a 15 point lead ahead of Arsenal at the top of the table and they'll be wanting to make it a double with the EFL Cup.

Newcastle on the other hand are in their second EFL Cup Final in two years after they were beaten in the final by Manchester United in the 2022/23 season.

Bet365's latest betting market gives an implied probability of 75% that it'll be Liverpool who lift the EFL Cup on Sunday.

Mo Salah is expected to have another massive game for the Reds

Liverpool's Mo Salah will be hoping to continue his great form this season with a big performance in the EFL Cup Final after struggling against PSG in the midweek game.

Salah was frustrated with his performance on Tuesday evening after failing to score during the game but he tucked away his penalty in the shootout in fine fashion.

The Egyptian was seen in tears after Liverpool were knocked out with his contract still not renewed with the Reds and his hopes of the Ballon d'Or diminishing.

Eddie Howe looking to win Newcastle their first domestic trophy since 1955

Newcastle United are heading to Wembley looking to make history for their club with 70 years passing since their last major domestic cup win.

The Toon last won a major domestic trophy back in 1955 when they beat Manchester City 3-1 in the FA Cup Final but won the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1969.

Eddie Howe knows he can become a legend in Newcastle by winning the cup on Sunday and he will be confident heading into the game after Liverpool played 120 minutes against PSG on Tuesday night.
