Never more so than in recent years, and 2022 looks to be no different as they offer a range of options on betting on our current PM Boris Johnson.
Whether it is betting on how long he will remain prime minister, whether he will be in charge of the Conservative Party at the next election, and even down to if he will make a cameo appearance in Eastenders, you can find a BJ special somewhere.

Political Betting on Boris
Politics, although some may argue, is a serious business and so is betting on political events around the world.
Exit Date
There has been betting throughout 2021, as to whether Bojo will last the year in his position. Barring some shock news in the next couple of weeks it looks like he has seen those bets off, but now has a full year to survive bets on him exiting the PM role in 2022.
Odds of just 11/10 suggest there is a 48% chance it will happen, which ties in with betting on the Next prime Minister too. Rishi Sunak and Kier Starmer currently fighting out the race in that market.

Next General Election
Betting on the next general election throws up another swathe of markets to consider, as to what date, and if Boris will still be PM at the time.
Currently, despite the next general election on schedule for 2025 as is normal, and short odds to leave in 2022, Boris Johnson is odds on, with a better than 50% chance at 10/11 to be the head of the Conservatives when the Election comes around.
Will Boris Johnson be the Conservative Party leader at the next UK General Election?
Will he? | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Yes | 1.90 (10/11) | 52.38% |
No | 2.10 (11/10) | 47.62% |
No-Confidence Vote
On an even more serious note, you can even bet on a Conservative vote of no confidence in Boris Johnson triggered before the next election
This relates to a vote of no-confidence triggered by 15% or more of Conservative MPs writing to the 1922 Committee chair and bookmakers have priced that up evens with a 50/50 chance.
Novelty Betting On Boris
Betting sites always have a knack of coming up with amusing novelty bets.
Outcomes that are very unlikely, but can amuse, spark debate, or even get a twitter spat going between celebrities like Gary Lineker and Piers Morgan for instance when it was suggested Piers had a chance of becoming the Next match of the Day presenter.
For that matter, I think there is a price on Morgan following in Boris's footsteps in the Mayor of London betting somewhere.
Our Prime Minister Boris Johnson, affable as he is, does attract some of these, so that you may be able to bet on him to have a Christmas No1, Fathering yet another child, and some may even place the 50/1 for winning the Nobel peace prize in the novelty section too!!
Although the 33/1 on offer to appear in Eastenders may not be that far-fetched as he did have a cameo appearance on the show when Mayor of London!
In terms of Novelty bets, the most likely to actually happen is for him to follow his 7th child with an 8th within 12 months priced up at 6/1
One can't even Imagine Bojo and the Christmas Elves competing for the Xmas Number One next year
