  • Anthony Joshua is the 1/16 favourite to beat Jake Paul in their pro fight on December 19.
  • Bookies make Jake Paul a 12/1 underdog, with round betting heavily favouring an early finish.
  • The bout will be streamed live on Netflix, featuring 8x3-minute rounds from Miami.

Anthony Joshua v Jake Paul Betting Preview: Netflix Showdown Set For December 19

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in a professional boxing bout on December 19 and betting sites have made the former world heavyweight champion the overwhelming favourite in a fight few saw coming.

The unlikely match-up will take place at the Kaseya Center in Miami, streamed live on Netflix and features a scheduled eight-round format with three-minute rounds.

Paul, the YouTube star-turned-fighter, was originally set to face Gervonta Davis in an exhibition, but that bout was pulled due to ongoing legal issues involving Davis.

In stepped Joshua, 36, a two-time unified heavyweight champion, to fill the void in what’s now billed as “Judgment Day”.

With such a stark difference in boxing pedigree, betting sites are offering little doubt about the likely outcome but there’s still value to be found in round markets and knockout props.

There’s no sugar-coating it. Joshua is expected to wipe the floor with Paul.

But the real betting intrigue lies in how quickly he does it.

Market Insight: Is There Any Value on Jake Paul?

While 12/1 might tempt the brave (or the deluded), the size, power, and experience gap between the two fighters is enormous.

Joshua, even outside of world title contention, is still a top-level heavyweight.

Paul, by contrast, has never fought anyone close to this calibre and has slogged it out even with retired MMA fighters.

That said, Paul's durability has been reasonable in past fights and some bettors may fancy longer rounds options (3/1 or 4/1) if he opts to stay on the back foot and survive.

If he somehow pulls off the upset, it would be one of the biggest shocks in modern boxing history.

OLBG Expert Opinion

What the expert says...
The odds tell the story. Joshua should be levels above Jake Paul and the betting market reflects that. But with a short-format fight and high-profile platform, punters might find better value in round betting or knockout props rather than backing the outright.
