Alfredo Morelos is 3/1 to join Aston Villa this transfer window
Alfredo Morelos is always seemingly a sought after forward in the transfer window and this summer is no different, with rumours of him leaving Rangers rife again.
Morelos is a somewhat controversial player on the field, with his feisty playing style resulting in cards galore, but he's a big player up front for the Gers.
Bookmakers make it 3/1 favourite that he goes to Aston Villa this transfer window, with former manager Steven Gerrard currently at the club.
Alfredo Morelos Next Club | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Aston Villa | 3/1 | 25.0% |
Sevilla | 4/1 | 20.0% |
Villarreal | 6/1 | 14.3% |
Crystal Palace | 15/2 | 11.8% |
Gerrard got the best out of Morelos, with his man management style and defending of Morelos in the press helping the forward to kick on with his football.
It may well be that Morelos wants to play under Gerrard again and according to the odds there's a 25% chance of that happening this window.
Sevilla been linked with move for Rangers striker and are 4/1 to sign him
During the last 12 months, Spanish side Sevilla have been linked with a move for Alfredo Morelos to strengthen their attacking options.
Morelos is entering his last 12 months of his Rangers contract so clubs may well be able to get him for a much cheaper deal than expected.
Reports in Spain suggest that a bid of €8m was made by Sevilla last month, but Rangers are expected to want more for the player.
The Gers will have to make a decision wether to cash in on their forward or let him run down the last 12 months of his contract.
Aston Villa are 5/1 for a top 6 finish this upcoming season
Moving to Aston Villa may not see Morelos as a starting striker, with Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings both fighting for that Number 9 spot currently.
What it would do though is provide Villa with another dimension in their attacking style, with Morelos different to the two forwards mentioned.
Villa are 5/1 to finish in the top 6 this season, with a European spot at the top of their aims for the upcoming season.
The team have already strengthened their squad with the signings of Diego Carlos and Boubacar Kamara as well as the permanent transfer of Phillipe Coutinho.
