Arne Slot's Liverpool now 5/1 to sign Alexander Isak this summer

We've got a busy summer transfer window coming up and betting odds are now given on Newcastle striker Alexander Isak's next club with Liverpool the favourite destination if he was to leave the Toon this summer.

Isak has shown no signs of wanting to leave Newcastle but has been linked with a move to Arsenal in the past few months with the Gunners continuing to look for a striker.

It's Liverpool though who have moved into 5/1 to sign Isak after a tough showing by Darwin Nunez on Wednesday evening saw him miss an open goal in their 2-2 draw away at Aston Villa.

That performance frustrated boss Arne Slot and the chance of Mo Salah not signing a new contract may well mean that there is a big space to fill up front for the Reds next season.

Bet365's latest odds go 5/1 that Liverpool sign Isak in the summer window with Arsenal following just behind them in the market at 11/2 if he were to leave Newcastle.

What the expert says...
Liverpool are now the favourite destination if Alexander Isak is to leave Newcastle this summer with Mo Salah's contract situation showing no sign of being fixed and Darwin Nunez struggling in front of goal for the Reds.

Newcastle still odds-on at 4/7 to keep Isak going into the new season

It's far from guaranteed that Isak will even leave Newcastle in the summer window with a massive fee needed to see Eddie Howe's club show any signs of letting him depart.

Reports from The Sun earlier this week suggest a fee of around ÂŁ164m will be needed for Newcastle to sign Isak this summer which would make him the second most expensive transfer of all time.

That high fee and the player showing no signs of wanting to leave make Newcastle odds-on at 4/7 to keep Isak for the 2025/26 Premier League season.

Liverpool face Newcastle in the Carabao Cup Final next month

Isak will come up against one of the teams who are interested in signing him next month with Liverpool and Newcastle facing off in the Carabao Cup at Wembley.

Liverpool head into the final as 2/5 favourites to win the cup for the 11th time in their history and could make this trophy the start of a treble with the Reds still leading the Premier League and in the Champions League.

Newcastle's last major trophy win was back in 1955 and they will be looking to make amends for their last visit to Wembley where they lost in the Carabao Cup final to Manchester United two years ago.
