  • First ever hosts Uruguay are the third favourites to host the tournament 100 years on

The Iberian Bid remains the 2/1 favourite to host the World Cup in 2030

Bookies keep the Iberian Bid the 2/1 favourite to host the 2030 World Cup with Ukraine joining Spain and Portugal in the joint bidding for the tournament.

It is understood that if the bid to host the 2030 World Cup was won, then Ukraine would join the Iberian Bid and host one of the Groups at the World Cup.

Smarkets say that the Spain-Portugal-Ukraine bid is 2/1 coming in from the 7/1 that it was prior to Ukraine being announced as joining it.

2030 World Cup Host Odds Probability
Spain-Portugal-Ukraine 2/1 33.3%
Morocco 11/4 26.7%
Uruguay 5/1 16.7%
China 7/1 12.5%
The Iberian Bid remains 2/1 to host the 2030 World Cup after Ukraine was announced as joining the bid. Ukraine would host one of the groups at the World Cup, having every single group stage game from one specific group in the country.

Former favourite Morocco just behind in the betting odds at 11/4

Morocco have previously been the favourites to host the 2030 World Cup but their odds have now drifted from 2/1 to 11/4 now to host the prestigious event.

Africa have not held a World Cup since South Africa in 2010 which was one of the most entertaining tournaments in recent history with Spain eventual winners.

Many will remember that tournament for the Jabulani ball which meant there were some great goals scored plus the vuvuzela's in the crowd.

20 years on it may well be the right time to see the tournament hosted in Africa once again.

First ever hosts Uruguay are the third favourites to host the tournament 100 years on

Uruguay hosted the first ever World Cup in 1930, with the country actually winning the event too.

The 2030 World Cup will be 100 years on from that event so FIFA could may decide to celebrate 100 years of their showpiece event with hosting it in Uruguay again.

At odds of 5/1 bookies give a 16.7% chance that Uruguay are hosts for the prestigious event.

Argentina, Chile and Paraguay are also set to be part of Uruguay's host bid with the last South American hosts of the event being Brazil back in 2014.

Joint bids look to be more popular with the next World Cup taking place in North America with Canada, America and Mexico all hosting games.

100 years on from the first ever World Cup held in Uruguay, the country could well host the event once again but bookies make them third favourites at 5/1. Uruguay won the first World Cup too and the anniversary could make sense for FIFA.
