I've spent over 20 years inside the betting industry. I'll guide you to avoid the hype, ignore the noise, and steer clear of the common pitfalls that catch out everyday punters.

  • Judd Trump leads the market ahead of Ronnie O’Sullivan and Kyren Wilson
  • Mark Selby and Neil Robertson are popular each-way picks in a stacked field
  • The tournament runs from 19 April to 5 May with full live coverage on BBC and Eurosport

Crucible Drama Returns as Trump Favourite for Snooker Crown

The 2025 World Snooker Championship gets underway on Saturday 19 April, with 32 players heading to the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield for the sport’s biggest event.

The tournament runs until Monday 5 May and this year’s edition sees Judd Trump arrive as the clear favourite in the outright betting.

With Kyren Wilson defending his maiden title and the likes of Ronnie O’Sullivan, Mark Selby and Neil Robertson all in the draw, punters can expect another classic in snooker’s spiritual home.

There’s plenty of opportunity to take advantage of free bets across top betting sites ahead of the first-round matches.

William Hill's latest odds give an implied probability of 22.2% that Trump is crowned champion this year.

What the expert says...
Trump’s form makes him the clear betting favourite but the World Championship is never short of shocks. Ronnie, Selby, and even Robertson offer value further down the market.

Tournament Wide Open This Year

Ronnie O’Sullivan will once again attract a wave of money in the betting markets as he always does.

The seven-time world champion has played a limited schedule in 2025 but his Crucible aura remains as strong as ever.

Last year’s winner Kyren Wilson is attempting to become the first first-time champion to defend the title since the Crucible era began.

History is against him, but form is not with the player looking a serious contender again at 7/1 in the market.
