In many cases with boxing betting you get a very short odds on favourite against an underdog, who may or may not over some value at a double-figure price. 

The aim is really to work out whether at the odds:

1. The favourite even at the short odds is value.

With this in mind the  Betfair Sportsbook who on many occasions will be the biggest odds on ONE of the fighters, in lots of instances they “take on the favourite” by offering bigger odds on the fav. 

In a two-horse race ( we know its three if you include the draw) but in most instances we do get a  positive result, you can add up the percentages for each bookie that their price represents + work out the “overround”. 

The over-round is the percentage profit the bookmaker makes whichever boxer wins. You can see below a sample bout, with the odds and the percentage those odds represent.

The over-round on this contest including the draw is 110.88% the over-round on either being a winner is 105.00%

Which bookmaker covers the most boxing events?

Bookmakers are well aware of how popular betting on boxing has become and nearly all of them offer odds on bouts. 

The high profile of Fury, Macgregor and Joshua has given boxing a boost in recent years. We have never had so much choice of odds and markets.

High profile boxing which features world champions or Irish boxers gets even more coverage especially from Paddy Power, Boylesports and William Hill.

Pay Per View Boxing has restricted the bookmakers boxing streaming. 

The TV companies Sky, BT, Box Nation have a new revenue stream and guard it carefully. 

So it will be rare to see many boxing matches at the bookies.
