Jack Grealish’s attacking style of play means he is a fan’s favourite, but which set of fans will he playing in front of next season?
Grealish has been associated with Aston Villa since he was six years old so surely only a chance to move to one of the very top clubs is likely to pull him away from his boyhood home.
As with most top players who could be eyeing a move this summer, it seems Manchester City will be at the front of the queue to sign the twenty-five-year-old midfielder. The current Premier League champions already have a wealth of attacking talent, but significant money has arrived for Grealish to move to the Etihad Stadium. In recent days, Grealish’s odds of moving to the blue side of Manchester have been cut from 2 to 1.07 suggesting a move could be imminent.
Some pundits have questioned the possibility of Grealish moving to Man City given that the Champions already have the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden in their midfield and suggested that a move to City could see Grealish parked on the bench.
Meanwhile, Villa fans are holding out hope that their hero will stay in the Midlands and have cited the fact that Grealish has been used in the kit photographs for the new season as evidence that the winger will not be moving away. The odds on Grealish staying at Villa Park have drifted from as short as 1.95 right out to the current 2.
Moving to Man City or staying at Aston Villa appear to be the strong favourites for where Grealish will end up with the next most likely destinations being Manchester United and Chelsea at odds of 26.
