Counting Stars was no match for Always A Runner in the Kentucky Oaks, yet she sat closer to the frantic early pace than the winner and was still running on well to the wire; it was easy to argue a case for her when the pair then met again in the Acorn last time, and Counting Stars confirmed what many shrewd punters had thought - she every bit as good as Brown's charge. In fact, the way in which she went about putting over four lengths between her and Always A Runner made it quite difficult to see how the latter could reverse the form, and with a fair setup provided for them both today back at the Spa, it would be no shock to see Counting Stars convincingly confirm that she is the best filly in town.

The strongest overall profile in the field: proven Grade 1 class, tactical speed, and the ability to handle the Saratoga dirt-route setup. Chad Brown trainee has been facing the best of this division and gets a positive jockey booking with Jose Ortiz. The 1 1/8 miles looks ideal - enough distance to use her stamina without taking away her speed advantage.
