Rock solid form this year in staying chases and seems sure to be competitive here. Whether he can win is debatable, but a very good chance of being in the frame.

Neo King stays forever and likes soft conditions, so the Midlands Grand National should suit him. Despite rising up the weights, he should stay on at the finish into at least a place.

Extensive stamina is the order of the day in this cruelling marathon handicap chase, and many of them will come up short. Git Maker will stay the trip based on his previous form. If he can get into a good rhythm allowing him to jump cleanly, he has a great chance. The trainer/jockey combination are on a high after a Festival winner, so let's hope they keep things going.

He was only beaten 5.5 lengths in the Grand National Trial and was keeping on in the run-in, so the further trip looks a good move. He is related to Sunny Bay, who was a top-class staying chaser who finished 2nd in the Grand National.

He finished 2nd at Exeter over 3m6f and was staying on, which bodes well for today's marathon trip. He won by 11 lengths last time out and was only given a 6 lb rise in the weights, which looks very lenient. His dam was out of a 4m2f winner, so his pedigree suggests he has plenty of stamina.

Mr Finian Maguire has kept the ride after winning at Punchestown national trial and did this from the front. Mr Finian Maguire is the son of Adrian Maguire, a top National Hunt jockey in the past, and his son looks to be progressing in the saddle. My Immortal won from the front and was finding the ground favourable. He could find the soft ground at Uttoxeter, with the possibility of rain sinking in and making this Midlands National a real test, which can suit this lightly raced ten-year-old.

Won the Berkshire National at Ascot in good style by 11 lengths. He jumped well and travelled throughout over 3m5f on good ground. He won that off 131 and then struggled next time in the Welsh National off a mark of 140, but still managed a respectable eighth on good to soft. Last time in the Edinburgh National he went off favorite, then dropped to 139 and, although a well-beaten second, he returned to form. Now dropped another lb, he must surely be a factor at an each-way price.

A notoriously gruelling test of stamina on soft ground. Last season, less than half the field completed the course when the going was good to soft, and one of those was Bodhisattva. He was beaten a long way but, more importantly, kept going and completed in his own time. It is not out of the question that the horse could make the first five places today by keeping on, and his very big odds make him interesting. Bodhisattva carried 10-4 last year and is set to carry the lowest weight this time, 10-2, after Alex Harvey has claimed his useful allowance. Bodhisattva has form in the Ulster National and Edinburgh National marathons, and his best form has been on soft ground. The stable saddled a placed runner at the Cheltenham Festival on Tuesday and a winner at Limerick on Thursday.
