Asuka makes his handicap debut off what could prove a competitive opening mark and is selected to go straight into the winner's enclosure. Is running consistently well at the moment and was only denied late on at York two starts ago here over a slightly longer trip than today's. Back at York last time, but this time over 7f and failed to be competitive after losing ground at the start. A smarter exit from the stalls will see her go close.

The Michael Dods-trained Glenfinnan can be a very infuriating horse; however, he has plenty of ability and some good performances in his back catalogue. He is a tricky ride who seems to thrive if he finds a bit of trouble in a big field. He also doesn't want to hit the front too soon, as he is inclined to pull himself up. The size of this field should ensure there is plenty to keep him interested, and he could take the race at decent odds.

WOODSTOCK seems to be capable at this level and still looks to have a workable handicap mark. Has the potential to outrun this price for sure.

BRIGHTON BOY has been good to us in the past and he just strikes me as a horse you should probably side with when he's at this price. Won a class three here back in May (we might have been on?) and proved capable of mixing it with grade two company since then. Mark higher then the last CD win but there might just be some wriggle room.

Julie Camacho's six-year-old gelding scored over seven furlongs at Wetherby earlier this summer and remains competitively handicapped. Dropping down in weight, his strong distance form makes him appealing each-way value at Thirsk.

Aurora Majesty did not take to the soft ground on her seasonal return 57 days ago. A return to fast turf from an inner rail slot maximizes her chances to get involved.

Our Havana a York winner already this season has the cheekpieces on for the first time and may bounce back from a poor run at York. 7furlongs is his trip and could run well at a price
