With 17 runners today, he will need some luck, but with Pat Dobbs riding, who knows him well, he can go close at a nice price.

This horse tends to run well in big field handicaps like this. Ran really well at Royal Ascot last month when finishing fourth of twenty-eight. Well drawn and likely to be in the mix again although might need a bit more respite from the handicapper to win one of these but he's certainly knocking on the door.

Won an all-weather novice at Kempton last year. Disappointed behind a few of these on his Newbury return but produced a much-improved display when fourth of 12, beaten 3¼ lengths, over C&D (good) three weeks ago, staying on best late.

He was safely held in a Group 3 at Newbury in May and could only beat half the field home in an Epsom handicap over ten furlongs four weeks ago. ​However, the real plotline tomorrow revolves around a sharp structural reset by the yard. Burke is dropping him back down to a mile and fitting him with first-time cheekpieces (s) to trigger a crucial spike in focus. ​The major tactical coup is the booking of Ryan Moore, a clear declaration of aggressive intent for a horse sliding back down to a handicap mark of 110. In a highly competitive field where many have already shown their hands, a re-energized Liberty Lane back at his optimum trip holds a distinct class edge. If the new headgear works its magic, his current 25/1 price tag will look like absolute larceny.

Ex French trained 5yo, three UK runs. He ran a nice race at Royal Ascot three weeks ago. He missed the break that day giving all his rivals a plenty big enought lead at the start, a lot to like how he finished a close 4th of 20 on his side of the track despite some traffic problems. Nice price for this handicap.

This horse was disappointing last time out at Royal Ascot, but prior to that he had run to a decent level. Looks to be an attractive each-way price in an open-looking race.
