Kodi Lion has been running consistently well at this seven-furlong distance in his last two races and still looks reasonably treated on a mark of 92 after being pushed up five pounds for winning at Haydock over 6f. William Buick has been booked to take over from Frederick Larson, and he is drawn well in stall 4.

Lightly raced filly Woroodd makes her handicap debut from an opening mark of 85. I think there's plenty more to come from her after a pair of wins in a maiden, then a novice LTO. She made the running both times and there looks to be a real shortage of pace on offer. So expect her to make all from stall 2 and exploit this opening mark.

Much lower mark here today than when winning this last year. Last time out was a little better and a value option to be in the frame.

Ellaria Sand is a 3-year-old bay filly by Sands of Mali out of Ellaria (by Exceed And Excel), trained by Ollie Sangster and partnered with Oisin Murphy in the saddle. She carries an official rating of 95, reflective of her Listed-class potential, notably a win over 7f on heavy ground as a juvenile. She steps into handicaps for the first time, following a largely quiet season, most recently well beaten in a Group 1 at Newbury over 7f. That race was a steep ask and this drop to Class 3 handicap company brings her into more hospitable waters. Her record on deep and soft surfaces is excellent??'two wins and 2 places from four starts??'so a slow or testing ground at Sandown tomorrow could bring out her best. The booking of Murphy suggests connections still hold aspirations, and although nothing to go off this season with all her best runs on soft ground last year there is definitely e/w appeal.

All of his best form came on soft ground for his previous yard. Dropping to a workable mark for his current trainer, judging on a good run in the Racing League at Chepstow last time out. A stiffer track at this trip is perfect and the recent rain is a big plus.

God Of War won his 2nd start at Doncaster last year before finishing a respectable 5th in a Listed race back there in September. He started this season finishing 2nd at Chester before struggling at Royal Ascot. He was only beaten 1.5 lengths in this class at Newmarket in July before finishing 4th at Haydock 3 weeks ago. The handicapper has dropped him 1 lb, and he looks like a good each-way bet with 4 places on offer.

Galeron, a 5-year-old bay gelding, is now with Charlie Hills. It's worth taking a chance here with the going turning soft after the recent rain. Down 3 pounds for his latest run, he could be each-way value.

Talented individual who returned from a year off with just a fair 6th at Haydock earlier this month. Needs a step forward from that but he's just 1lb above his last winning mark so would be no surprise to see him run well.

Kindest Nation has dropped a fair way in the handicap after a series of moderate runs. Looks fairly handicapped on the best of its form and any easing in the ground will be appreciated.

Six-year-old mare Yokkell is well-traveled with 7 wins from 43 career starts. Second start for the new stable of Adrian Wintle here. Runs off a handicap mark of 80, four pounds below the last winning mark from the first outing for the previous stable. Up in grade here but interesting in receipt of weight. Drops to seven furlongs for the first time.
