7:07 Pontefract Tips

Badri has won 8 of his 50 starts and is bidding for a hat-trick after winning his last two starts over 6 furlongs here at Pontefract. There is a slight risk in that only one win has been over today's 5 furlongs, but he showed excellent speed here last week over 6 furlongs, leading all the way and winning by 4.5 lengths. He has a 4 lb penalty, but that is removed by his jockey's 5 lb claim, so the hat-trick looks likely.

Likeable type who landed a 5th career victory when striking at Hamilton in May and has lost absolutely nothing in defeat at Thirsk and Newcastle since. I can't see any reason why he shouldn't be bang there once again this evening.

Ex Irish trained 4yo. Three runs for his UK trainer this year, not beaten far three weeks ago in a 14 runner £31K AW handicap and has something to build on. He went close last year in a strong Listed contest on g/f ground and will be fine tonight on this going. He could prove to be much better than his new low mark handicap of 90.

Won at Ripon last time out. Races off the same mark as when winning over course and distance last year. Has a good each-way chance here.

The Dylan Cunha-trained Sam James-ridden Baker Blue showed what he can do with a wide-margin win over the minimum trip at Wolverhampton three runs back. A Listed race at Chantilly and the 5f handicap at Royal Ascot found him out, but back in calmer waters this evening could see the 3yo Ardad gelding outrun his current odds of around 14/1 for this CL3 handicap.
