Mostar Dreams last month stepped up to 1 mile here for the first time and came straight in with a win. She's only up 2 lbs for that, and there could be more to come now second up.

A maximum-sized field lines up for what looks like a competitive heat, but the gelding's current odds look quite generous as he chases his fourth win from his last five outings. Admittedly, all those wins came at Kempton, and today's straight mile provides a different test. He won a little snugly last time, and a three-pound rise should be within his capabilities.

Three runs this winter for the 4yo who has found his form. He was a novice stakes winner during Dec. The runner-up won next time out. He was beaten by just a head last month at this class 4 handicap level, posting a high RPR rating and was 6L clear of the rest. The winner from that race won next time out. Same mark for this handicap and should be in the mix.

Goes well here, and the expected strong pace gives him a decent chance in this. Worth backing EW at the prices.

Winner at Ffos Las in September. Solid efforts thereafter until a too-bad-to-be-true last time out, so needs to bounce back but should run well if doing so.

There's some form in there if you look deep enough to Rajapour's credentials. He got close at Southwell from higher in the weights and also popped in with a win at Wolverhampton in December. There have been some forgetful runs in that recent back catalogue that will need forgiving, but at this price I'm prepared to do that.

He has consistently delivered a high level of form at the 1m trip, achieving multiple wins and competitive runs. He excels particularly on AW, with three victories at 1m on AW, especially here at Newcastle. However, there are concerns regarding his current form after finishing last in both starts this year. It is reminiscent of his slow start to his career, which was followed by a remarkable rise in 2024, when he won 6 out of 8 races at one point, advancing from a low rating of 45 to a Class 4 winner. At 50/1, another resurgence could make an each-way bet very lucrative.
