Looks to have got off potentially lightly from an opening mark of 120 after just two runs. Most recently, he finished ahead of a subsequent winner, albeit while receiving 7 lbs. He finished behind Modern Man on debut, who has some proper form to his name, including runs behind Kingston Queen and Kripticjim, who are rated considerably higher than this. That horse was also third behind 144-rated Skylight Hustle in a P2P, which adds some gloss to the effort. He lacks experience, but hopefully he has enough leeway in this mark to get involved in this admittedly open event.

Thewoodcorner is the only four-year-old in this handicap field, and the extra distance should suit him. He stayed on into 2nd place last time and did likewise when he took it up at the last in his previous race at Chepstow on much softer going.

Take an EW-chance on 7yo irish gelding Diamond Koda here. He has won his last race over 2m3 1/2f at Doncaster by 12 lengths beating 11 rivals. This came after a short break and could have been the breakthrough for him as he finished runner-up in nine of his first 14 races. Goes well on todays ground conditions and holds every chance to be in the mix.

I simply don't get why this one is 33/1 pretty much across the board (could well go into the 40s at some point), but he looks great each-way value to me in this 10-runner race. He hated the heavy ground last time out, but this drying ground is much more up his street, as he showed when easily winning his bumper before going on to win a maiden hurdle on good-to-soft. The well-beaten second in that maiden hurdle has since won off 111, and TBB races here off 115. The bumper also had a future 111-winning horse about 18 lengths behind, so there's a lot to suggest that the 33/1 is way too big here.
